I agree. I know some of the folks who were at Virginia Tech responding to this situation in one way or another. They are all good people. Every bit of the response will be gone over in detail in the coming weeks and it may well turn out that in hindsight, different decisions should have been made. But a tragedy of this sort and magnitude had never occured on any US college campus before. The closest thing I can think of is a someone that went on a shooting rampage at the University of Toronto a number of years ago.
We want to be angry at someone, but our anger should be directed at the evil deeds of (apparently) one young man, not at the inability of hardworking men and women to perfectly foresee those evil deeds.
