Don't hold your breath. But the police ran the name of a Mohammad Jabiz for driver's licence info over the radio.
Could be a wounded victim or witness, too.
It will be interesting to see where he acquired these clips and why. Thanks for info.
I haven’t followed the girlfriend angle too much. But I had the thought, what if it was a girlfriend or acquaintance at the dorm, and he told her what he had planned for later in the day (Norris Hall.) If she threatened to go to authorities, that would be a reason to shoot her. In that case, the 7 AM shooting would have been the random shooting, and the Norris Hall shooting the planned event.
Just checked. The woman president that was hired a few years back is no longer there. I don’t know anything about the present president. I hope that he’s more of a leader than the Duke president.
I don't think he was discussing gun laws. He is was discussing campus rules. Parents and students have choices as to what school to attend. I own several guns and I respect the second amendment. I have a daughter starting college next year and I am not sure how I would come down on this.
I will say that at a minimum, campus security should be well armed and well trained.
Al Qaeda, although liking to do coordinated attacks, doesn’t actually get them coordinated in too many places in the world outside of Iraq, occasionally in Saudi, and a few other places where social control works in their favor.
Magazines generally do not have serial numbers as they are cheaply produced in bulk. Unless he purchased them with a credit card or check, there will be no way to trace them.
I somehow don’t think organized Moslem terrorists would 1st be interested in VA Tech.
I doubt this is any kind of true terrorism (not the dumbed-down version everyone is using for every criminal).
keep us posted
Prayers for all who mourn, are awaiting news of a loved one and for all who are wounded.
Utterly amazing, aren’t they?
And the propoganda flows, 24/7, everday....
It’s fairly easy to tell the offshore posters, as they tend to be the most hate-filled...
A trained shooter with ten round magazines would have no trouble. The key is training. Move, shoot, reload, it’s common training for those interested.
I scorn large capacity magazine, the reliability drops rapidly.
Patric Henry Law School several years ago.
If you have ever seen the endless video loops on Al Quada training, and take into consideration how they conduct homicide bombings, they always use a decoy.
A gunman could walk into a building, shoot to death one person...WALK out of the building...don't forget it's 7AM and not everybody is up and around yet...get into an accomplice's car...drive to the REAL target...chain the doors..and the rest is history.
I haven't posted a comment on this horrifying event yet today but have been watching the news and reading this thread. Your comment is spot-on, IMO. Those who think that students should be armed are probably just upset right now; or at least I'd like to think that is their reasoning. We know that there are far too many unstable students, and other people, to start calling for students to all be armed. But those in charge of security certainly need to be well-armed.
HHMMMMMMM....during this type of action why would the police "run the name" of a victim or witness?
Two hours with no lockdown?? LEO has some serious explaining to do, and/or why CCW is not legal in Virgina Tech.
I was wondering about that earlier myself. However, Amish schoolhouse vs. Virginia Tech. is a bit of a different dynamic.
With the former, you've got (many) fewer pupils, so managing the situation and controlling the people would be easier.
With the latter, you've got adults, who are physically much larger and stronger, and there's more of them.
That said, I'm surprised to hear students actually lined up (if that's really what happened). You'd think everyone would scramble and panic or try to escape.
Have they for sure identified the gun(s) involved? I have a hard time believing a 9mm could be used to kill that many people. Plus the cell phone clip of the shots made them sound much deeper than a 9mm report.
