I think the point is if you manage to break the biggest bone in your body the arteries and veins didn’t do so well either!

Why not? You don’t believe in taking responsibility for your actions?

"Seatbelts must be worn by all people in the front seats of vehicles in the People’s Republic of NJ."

Seatbelts must be worn by ALL people in ALL seats of vehicles in the up-and-coming People's Republic of Delaware.

Well that proves it then! Seatbelts are clearly dangerous. What kind of horific death trap have people been deceived into wearing!!! (/sarcasm)

“I think the point is if you manage to break the biggest bone in your body the arteries and veins didn’t do so well either!”

Below is the perfectly understandable post to which I responded. Nothing ambiguous there. I asked and I got my answer.

“The femur is the largest bone in the body and carries a lot of blood.”

there is no evidence that the red pickup did anything except pull off the shoulder. it may well be that the driver of the white pickup, overreacted or just tried to get lane position on the red pickup, and moved over without looking - squeezing the Corzine vehicle into the guardrail.

Jon Corzine suffered injuries serious enough to land him in intensive care with a breathing tube down his throat and a doctor declaring him lucky to be alive.

I am sure he still will find a way to raise taxes.

People who don’t wear seat belts endanger other drivers??? What? If this is the case, it’s because these people have less regard for their own safety and probably for other safe driving habits. If you think forcing these people to wear seatbelts will make them more cautious drivers you are crazy!

Acting Governor Codey was on the news, seeking to ease the fears of state residents: “Business will go on as usual in the state.”

Yeah, that’s what I was afraid of!

In keeping with the N.J. corruption standard for their govenors. I am also sure he will appoint the officer on the scene to some high govt post to avoid the fine for not wearing his seatbelt.

We recently had a situation where a cop blew a red light and caused a series accident. He blamed the driver of the other car, who was illegal and did not speak English, and gave her several tickets thinking there were no independent witnesses to dispute his version of events, which occurred in the early morning hours. Little did he know that my friend, who is a late night techie, had stepped outside his office for a smoke and witnessed the whole thing.

Myself, I would have reported the illegal to the INS. It's too bad that your buddy didn't seem to think that a non English illegal immigrant driving around is a threat to public safety. That illegal shouldn't have been on the road in the first place.

Egads, not only was this man in a horrible accident, he's anatomically challenged as well. :-/
Why? The femur is the thigh bone.
