Stern took a pretty good beating over the Selina stuff 10 or so years ago and he caved to the PC crowd and he never even said anything to get that beating.
Oh well, at least Imus didn't call them Articulate, they may be demanding his head.
To: nepppen
I agree, he was the only reason why I ever had MSNBC on

I listened to Imus until he went totally n the tank for Kerry.. that said, his style was acerbic at best.
Now all his friends, people he stood behind have tossed him under the bus. He must have known this was coming but I still feel bad about it.
I feel bad because this can happen to anyone on the radio today and this empowers the grievance directors like Sharpton and Jackson to take down Hannity, Beck or Rush just because they might have said something that upset anyone at all.
This is just the beginning and it’ll end with the fairness doctrine making a crushing return to the airwaves.
To: Rosemont
It appears his friends are few, while his enemies are legion, the rest just used him for air time.

If I was Imus I would have gone on Sharpton’s show and called him out for the hypocrite he is.

The question should be whether there would be all this noise had Imus been talking about Condi Rice, instead of these damaged-for-life students. That's a rhetorical question, right?

There was a thread with that subject line. I really didn’t get into it.
To: AGreatPer
No, I was a fan too. Interestingly, I had just written a email to the show asking where Larry Kenny was. He played my favorite character, the completely un-PC, light-in-the-loafers “Greg Kenny”). That was right before this blew up.
I also loved Rob Bartlett who did incredible characters. Unless you watched regularly you wouldn’t know how Imus skewered such characters as Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton. An equal opportunity offender.

I’m afraid NittanyLion’s got you beat on this debate. You’re wrong.
To: dfwgator
Imus was the only program on MSNBC that was profitable. Now they run the table in failure.

I’m watching the creep! He keeps saying nobody has the right to use the public air waves ,saying things like Imus said. SO?! Is Sharpton going to come out against all the rappers that have the exact same language in their songs?!
To: Crawdad
Uh, yes. I am well aware of what Imus said about Condi.

Oh...good grief...
Robert Johnson, founder of BET
He says the rappers on BET and Imus is “apples and oranges”...and that IF the record people give him music and videos without bad words..he would put them on!!
IOW..he isn’t going to go after the BLACK rappers.!!
He is really upset that Gregory would ask him to tell the black rappers to quit calling women HOS!!
To: Rosemont
This is a lynch mob. Where are all of Imuss friends?
Hillary-Obama have told them all that they must sacrifice their friend "for the common good". They're just following orders.
To: Txsleuth
He said this is JUST A BEGINNING...he said they are going to make sure other networks and people do NOT get away with this anymore.Oh goody. He thinks he is Superman now. Someone needs to find the kryptonite quickly.

I agree, he was the only reason why I ever had MSNBC on Well, as a newshound, I watch it quite often. But I also watch the others. As for Imus... even if you aren't quite fond of him the show was good because all the newsmakers and Washington insiders were on the show. I watched past Imus' mumblings to listen for talking points and to get a headsup on news events of the day. I'll miss the show a lot.

Fat Al Sharpton showing his influence over the Liberal media. But why does he have influence? Contrary to popular behalf, the thirty million or so black people in this country have never gotten together and elected this man or Jesse Jackson as a "leader". He has influence because the media gives him tons of free airtime. He gets airtime because they know that people love to hate him and his antics boost ratings.
What if we boycotted Sharpton? Refused to watch any program in which he comes on, and told the producers at the networks, FOX, CNN, and MSNBC? Wrote to the sponsors of those shows? Without attention, people like Sharpton and Jackson would wither on the vine.
