I still think that Obama and Edwards should refuse to appear on any debate sponsored by MSNBC or NBC.

Once the sponsors started leaving, this was bound to happen. Once the sponsors started leaving he went to kiss the ring of Al Sharpton, this was bound to happen.

Hasn't moved an inch. Imus has the right so say anything he wants. MSNBC has the same right not to carry it Bingo
To: Pukin Dog
Exactly, and it is sad to see FReepers acting as if the Dixie Chicks were correct. Excellent point...that's exactly what's going on here.

He will now be turned into a “Jack in the Box” and then wished into the cornfield.

No you didn't. I have no fear of others opinions, right or wrong. Too bad I am quickly becoming a minority on that point of view here.

Now where will Hillary go to push her BS? Imus never had any use for Hill, in fact he always called her Satan, acted like he hated algore too.

Imus was the only show I ever watched on MSNBC. Now I can just delete them.

And how many of his huge leftie guests will continue to show up? The irony is that PCism has cost the left a significant forum on which they could spin their version of reality unopposed.

Consider the Dixie Chicks, and stop pouting. Why are so many of you afraid to have people disagree with your views? Disagreement is not attack. Dont wimp out and leave, just make your point and let others do the same.

I think I have heard a lot more offensive things than this coming out of his mouth. I just have to wonder why this sparked such outrage? Is he into a very expensive multi-year contract or something? Did someone want him dumped?
P.S. I have always found that using the on/off switch to be very effective at tuning out people who I don't want to hear. It works every time it's tried.

OK, so when are they going to ban Hip Hop?

He became a liability when he alienated his employer's customers. You and I may think PC has gone too far, but MSNBC is in business to make money. When an employee damages their ability to do so, they must respond by firing him/her.I thought I heard today that the majority of his listeners did not think it was as big a deal as the PC crowd (Sharpton, etc.) were making it out to be. I agree that a business has the right to make these sort of decisions because they are, afterall, trying to be profitable. I just don't believe that he would have been fired if the PC/hypocritical talking heads hadn't freaked out....which caused sponsors to get nervous and pull the plug.

I don’t like Imus and quit watching some time ago after his ,uncalled for, remarks he made about Bush being a war criminal.
That being said, Imus will go down fighting back and wouldn’t be surprised if he was talking to lawyers right now. He has plenty to reference to about ‘other’ people who have said worse and allowed to keep their voice in media.
Let’s face it, he can go after broadcasters who air rap music and the ‘artists’ who sing them and every station who allows that filth to be heard by young people and small children.
In that regard and that only, I hope he suceeds to show what an outrageous bias and double standard the media lives by.
There can be some good to come from all this.

Then the religious types need to make a fuss and boycott when and where necessary. If you have the numbers and a loud enough voice you will get the same results. Good luck!

Sorry for that double post. I don’t know what the heck I did. :)
