With all this power to fire people that Jesse and Al have, how does Limbaugh or Hannity still have shows?

Watching Imus being devoured alive by his fellow liberals is a wonderful sight to behold. It’s better than a zombie movie.

Who's next? Someone who speaks against Muslim terrorists? Won't that upset CAIR?

Been there...Done that!

Michael Graham was terminated from WMAL630AM talk radio in Washington, DC...for calling Islam a terrorist cult, etc..

Ah, but should we ignore the reason WHY Imus BECAME a liability in the first place? Personally, I don't think so.

He became a liability when he alienated his employer's customers. You and I may think PC has gone too far, but MSNBC is in business to make money. When an employee damages their ability to do so, they must respond by firing him/her.

I did get the hook, for 5 hours, after responding to you on that thread.

I admit I deserved it.

Do you think that fact that OBAMA called for him to fired today influenced this more than Jackson and Sharpton??

Seriously. I'm curious to know what these folks advocate. Should MSNBC be forced to keep Imus on the payroll, even if they lose money as a result? Would that somehow make our speech more free?

If so, it was MSNBC’s right to weigh the costs and benefits of fighting such an investigation and make its own determination as to how to proceed.

I would say that Al Sharpton played a part in making Imus’s comments such a big deal and therefore affected the decision of the “big boys” to pull out. So did every other hypocrite who screamed and wee-wee’d in their PC-panties.

This could have involved the government. The FCC started an investigation and MSNBC may have caved because of it.

Equivocate much?

The FCC hadn't even started. How could it have had anything to do with his firing?

It may not be that cut and dried.

Nothing changes the disgust I feel for the PC crowd who gloats for their victory.

You won’t change my mind and I don’t care what you think at the moment, so I’ll leave here.

Exactly, and it is sad to see FReepers acting as if the Dixie Chicks were correct. Your free speech ends at my wallet. Now, lets see what CBS does. My guess is that Imus moves to satellite before the month is over.

Before you go, try answering this...Should MSNBC be forced to keep Imus on the payroll even if they lose revenue as a result?

Rosi is still pulling in sponsors.. maybe when people stop buy products that sponsor this show... she will be fired. The only reason Imus was fired is because of companies that sponsor that show... are leaving by the droves. Wish it happens to VIEW.
