Imus: Message From a Nappy-Haired Freeper
4/10/2001 | Stanley Jackson

Posted on 04/10/2007 4:27:25 PM PDT by Stajack

I’m writing to those I consider my ideological brethren, after reading a lot of the commentary here regarding Imus’ latest rhetorical “riff”. I believe that most Freepers are, like me, disgusted at the ill- conceived stab at “humor” by him and his sidekick Bernard McGuirk. But in the aftermath of his actual words, Imus sought to make amends with Sharpton and Jackson. This was a brilliant move that accomplished two things. First, it caused a lot of us to take our scrutiny off of Imus, and to focus on the utter hypocrisy of Sharpton and Jackson. Second (and more importantly for me), it PROVIDED COVER FOR THE ENABLERS OF IMUS. Who am I talking about? Let’s see, Tim Russert, David Gregory, Chris Matthews, Howard Fineman, Jonathan Alter…the list goes on and on. These folks are enablers because for 30 years their ilk has enhanced the reputation and prestige of Imus, all the while winking and nodding at his verbal missiles. What have they gotten in return? A PLATFORM TO LAUNCH IDEOLOGICAL WARFARE AGAINST US AND THOSE WE SUPPORT. Ironically, in the midst of the withering scrutiny of Imus, Sharpton and Jackson, most of the enablers are morphing into “objective” journalists attempting to help Imus "find redemption' so we can all "move forward together”. As I’m writing this I see Brian William sweet talking the Rutgers coach , Vivien Stringer. To Williams and Co., I say STICK IT. Freepers, these are the same folks who would tar and feather Bennett, Limbaugh, Hannity or ANY CONSERVATIVE in similar circumstances. But because of our fixation on Sharpton and Jackson, the enablers are getting a pass. This is AT LEAST as much political as it is racial. Eye on the target, PLEASE.

Obviously, some free speech is freer than other.

How long before “Nappy Headed Hos” comes into regular useage because of this episode?

No! Why should I be ANYTHING after hearing what some brain dead old hippie radio jock like Imus says? Good grief, if you reacted to every statement made like him and his ilk you would be an emotional basket case. I ma as effected by what he says as I am by the incoherent ramblings of some spaced out homeless vagrant who walks by.

If I were imus, I don’t think I’d be commenting on anyone else’s hair

Dang, I just knew somebody was going to beat me to that remark.

Yours is an interesting take on this Imus tempest. IMO politics and racial turmoil feed off of each other. Britt Hume’s show tonite it was mentioned that Guliani and McCain would still go on the Imus show so at least in their minds, there is political profit to be gained by doing so. It seems that politics knows no shame-—which we all pretty much knew. It just gets our attention every once in awhile.

IMHO..

  • If I were Imus I'd see to it that Gangster Rap Played in his time slot while he is on suspension.

  • If I were interviewing a B-Ball gal I'd ask her if that sort of talk is heard on the court.

  • I think the right should ignore the issues and facts and instead concentrate on grinding Imus into the ground. For practice.

Did you happen to see the black comedian on Hannity & Colmes last night? His opinion was interesting.

Yes, I saw it. I didn't care for the black comedian. Everytime he said "b's", "h's", and "n's", I winced, because (sadly) he was just giving ammunition to Imus and folks like him.

Political correctness run amok. That's all it is. The basketball team should have told Imus, "Screw you. You miserable old bag of bones".

Imus has said worse, so the question is, "why now?"

I saw it, and it's an opinion I agree with.

I can’t help but note the old saying that if one lives by the sword they will surely die by the sword. The hypocrisy of the Left is mind boggling. I’m a conservative but I would never think to use that kind of language. And we are the “evil” ones to hear these creeps talk. God only help the Republic if Hillary with her profanity laced language is elected to president. Decent people don’t use this kind of language — period.

You mean the guy named Patricia...or something like that?

I heard him on the radio today....Seemed half-way reasonable.

An adult made a statement and apologized for his inflammatory remarks. The origin of the words admits he was wrong. What is your point?

He is a no good, BS artist dirt bag, who sucks up to other dirt bags who by and large are as completely shameless as he is about their professions.

This morning on a radio talk show someone who sounded like he knew what he was talking about (I missed the intro) said that guests on Imus are really surprised when they learn how small his audience share is. Since everyone they know watches Imus, they think that everyone else does too. The MSM is really isolated in their little cocoon world.
