I was listening to the Laura Ingraham radio show today and they were talking about how some cars are girly cars and some are manly cars. Laura was particularly mentioning that the Mazda Miata was a girly car. This was news to me. Her assisitant chimed in with saying the Mazda 3 was a girly car. This was also news to me. I'm in the market for a new car and was thinking of buying the MAzda 3 or a Miata. I've been told that the 3 has fewer service issues than other Mazda cars.
Of course one would gather that the manly cars would be trucks.
One girly car I've noticed is the VW Beetle. I've never seen a man driving one of those.
What do Freepers think? What cars are girly cars and what cars are manly cars.

I hear ya. I drove some little roadsters before I settled on a Sebring convertible. If I had the garage space for multiple cars, I'd have a little roadster for fun driving, but I need one vehicle with enough trunk space for a week-long trip and enough room for a couple of passengers, as well as for fun driving and my daily commute. Lot of compromises there.
Yes, this is definitely news/activism material!
We like to pull up along side one of these ,and scions, and see if the driver is as ugly as the car.

It was memorable. It isn't practicle for any way I use a vehicle. It was fun. If it's a girly car, bring on the lasses.

And I might note there are many “neutral” cars out there.
Ford has long targeted young women with Mustang ads, going all the way back to '66 or so, with the "Six and the Single Girl" ad. Meanwhile, men were targeted with Mustang ads touting V-8 power, four-speed transmissions, and sporty handling.
It worked like a charm; countless secretaries bought base-model 6-cylinder and V8 coupes - and men bought GT, Mach 1, Boss and Shelby models (because of the glamour girls and tire smoke in the ads).
There were fewer car makes and models from which to choose in the mid-'60s, so the "chick car" issue filtered down to the sub-model and optional equipment levels. As for the new Mustang, the same scenario seems to hold - women are seen more often driving the V6 cars, while GTs are more popular with men.
In general, the higher the horsepower, the more likely it is that the purchaser will be male.
Miata is a girly car. A man can drive one but first he must remove his testicles and place them in the glove box. Same guy that drives a Miata can also be found holding his wife’s or girlfriend’s purse while she shops and willingly goes with her to Pilates class. This same male (genetically speaking) once married will still go dancing at a club because its ‘fun’....
PT Cruiser, Jaguar X-type, VW Bug, and anything with a Scion nameplate is girly.
Also any Hybrids are for Guilty white liberals and are girly.
Guy’s who drive Miata’s are also short, that’s why it’s a girly car.
