Girly cars vs. Manly cars (Laura Ingraham)
Laura Ingraham radio show ^ | April 9, 2007 | n/a

Posted on 04/09/2007 6:53:58 PM PDT by fkabuckeyesrule

I was listening to the Laura Ingraham radio show today and they were talking about how some cars are girly cars and some are manly cars. Laura was particularly mentioning that the Mazda Miata was a girly car. This was news to me. Her assisitant chimed in with saying the Mazda 3 was a girly car. This was also news to me. I'm in the market for a new car and was thinking of buying the MAzda 3 or a Miata. I've been told that the 3 has fewer service issues than other Mazda cars.

Of course one would gather that the manly cars would be trucks.

One girly car I've noticed is the VW Beetle. I've never seen a man driving one of those.

What do Freepers think? What cars are girly cars and what cars are manly cars.

I don’t know about women in general, but I don’t want anything to do with a Dodge because they are butt ugly and you can hear them knocking from a 1/4 mile away.

All cars are girlie cars.

REAL MEN sit on flaking ammo boxes tied to a rusting frame with bailing wire. To go faster they just reach up and twiddle with the carburator. To slow down they pull on the choke. To change gears they use a hammer to wack the transmission. They don’t need doors or windows because those just get in the way when whistling at all the hot babes they pass on the expressway. In fact, stuff falling off your vehicle is a proven way to get women to stop and talk to you.

Remember: Chrome and two-tone paint jobs are for whimps!

Buy Audi, Volvo, or a VW... don’t buy a miata for God’s sake.

Got that right. My mother-in-law just bought a new car and I just about had a heart attack when she mentioned getting a Scion. The pops-in-law and I swore right there that we would never be seen in it. She ended up getting a Toyota something-or-other.

"Does it come with AARP membership?"

Nope, just XM satellite radio, OnStar, sunroof, leather, great ride and comfort, good power and decent gas mileage!

Most of the time I see the bumper sticker that reads “Pick Up Trucks are for girls” It is on an SUV.

Yeah, I would argue that (with an obvious few exceptions) you can un-girlie almost any car. Stick shift, low-restriction exhaust, wide low-profile tires, window sticker for either NASCAR or some racing product...

OTOH, you can similarly girlie-up just about anything too. Put stuffed animals across the back deck, some kind of plastic flower hanging from the mirror, add a silly-assed bumper sticker about your pet poodle...

A lot of it is how you drive it and where you drive it.

It’s getting to the point that F-250s are girly vehicles. Most of my girlfriends have them. You can tell they’re ladies’ trucks because they have some decals or bumper stickers that say stuff like “I [heart] dressage” or something equally dopey. The men are driving F-350 duallys which are too wide to be parked anywhere but in front of the TSC or the feed store. The duallys are not girl trucks because you can’t take them to the mall or the supermarket.

Mercury Marauder!

I had an 96 Impala SS once and looked at the Marauder. Not enough power but you could add a blower.

A Dodge Ram eats Ford Trucks for breakfast. No wonder you are scared of the big bad Dodge Ram.

5.7L V-8 Hemi... 340 HP... Variable displacement... Smooth and very fast ride...

It's good for the girls as well as the boys. Just tell the wife you're getting a station wagon for the family.
