Bernard Kerik did nothing wrong [retread troll zotted]
4-8-2007 | Me

I lament the hhttp://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/04/07/AR2007040701398.html?hpid=topnews against mayor Giuliani regarding Bernard Kerik's accusations of mafia ties, lack of ethics, etc.

They are simple allegations. Nothing else. Take a look at the weak accusations made on Kerik, only because he was Giuliani's friend:

1-questionable financial deals, 2-ethics violation 3-allegations of mismanagement 4-a top deputy prosecuted for corruption. 5-friendship with a businessman who was linked to organized crime.

Let's tackle each of these accusations: 1) questionable by who? questionable does not mean illegal. 2)ethics violation: So what? Many politicians have had ethic violations. 3)"allegations" of mismanagement: Allegations are just that: accusations without evidence. Prove it and i'll believe you. 4)Kerik's top deputy was an adult who knew what he was doing. Kerik was not his dad, and did not have to necessarily be aware of his top deputy's dealings. 5) How many of us haven't been friends with a person who later turns out to commit a crime? This guilt buy association claim is irrelevant and weak.

Get off Bernard Kerik's and Giuliani's back.

If we do not elect Giuliani we will lose. As simple as that. Let’s not let petty issues such as abortion get in the way of winning the president in ‘08. Giuliani has the strength and courage necessary in these dangerous times.

I think people will vote on issues, but let me just observe: That the people of Utah will be much more receptive to Ruddi as they allow multiple wives. :)

Happy Easter.....

Best quote of the day?

The GOP presidential race can be summed up this way: three strong contenders and a hunger for someone else. “There’s no question that there’s a very open field,” said Ken Mehlman, a former Republican National Committee chairman. Unlike in 1980, 1988, 1996 and 2000, “there’s not a presumptive front-runner,” he added.

Careful with that one. The guy is a complete idiot and I don’t even respond to him anymore. This time though I just couldn’t resist his ironic grammatical error using the French term for unborn. He’s now going to spew vile and hatred at you and not engage in any kind of reasoned discussion.

Your complaint implies there’s no evidence at all against Kerik, merely a vendetta against Thompson. That’s laughable.

Pretty disheartening isn't it? Remember back in 1998 when the democrats were falling all over themselves dumping any and all moral precepts that they held to defend Clinton? That's exactly where the Rudycrats are today. It really makes me sick.

I don't support Rudy for the nomination but your comparison of Clinton and Rudy (and their defenders)is way off.

If we do not elect Giuliani we will lose.

If we DO elect Giuliani, we have already lost. Liberal v. Liberal in November is a lose-lose for conservatives.

If we do not elect Giuliani we will lose. As simple as that.

If Rudy is the nominee, there will be a third party candidate that will siphon off just enough votes for Hillary to win.

"I don't support Rudy for the nomination but your comparison of Clinton and Rudy (and their defenders)is way off."

Not according to Rudy himself...

And if you pay attention to the tactics of rudy's defenders here, you will notice they are eerily similar to what the clintonites often do / did to defend them.

kerik was a hooked-up detective who kissed the right butt and became commisioner! he would use first grade detectives to do his personal business. not necessarily illegal but definitely unethical. oh, but he did blatantly illegal things too.

Thanks for the advice. I had made up my mind to ignore these types of threads - but like you - I couldn't resist this one. These people are posting for the explicit purpose of trying to create division among us. They're getting it from the Rudy! playbook as per this anecdote below:

In a voice loud enough to be overheard on the other side of the room, he outlined his view that the other candidates would divide up the “right-wing,” voters, as he called them, leaving him to consolidate the moderates and the economic and military conservatives who aren’t fixated on social issues.

The charges stemmed from one incident, but I'm quite certain it was at least two charges to which he had pleaded guilty.

Not that it matters much at this point, anyway. I believe he's now going to be indicted on a pile of much more serious Federal charges anyway.

“If we do not elect Giuliani we will lose.”

Really? How?

“Let’s not let petty issues such as abortion get in the way of winning the president in ‘08.”

Petty?

“Giuliani has the strength and courage necessary in these dangerous times.”

Where was that courage as he evaded the draft? Where was that strength in his first TWO failed marriages?
