Is Rudy blaming bloggers for his recent bad publicity?
Rudy's recent problems have arisen from interviews he granted or speeches he gave.
The most damning information has come from YouTube videos, which merely give the voters a chance to hear Rudy -- in his own words. His primary problems -- the ones that have stuck -- have not come from bloggers scurrilous accusations -- they have come from bloggers reporting his own words.
Debate and argument are healthy for Democracy. And as a conservative, I am happy that we are having these fights now -- rather than in the General Election. Imagine if we didn't find out that Rudy Giuliani was in favor of taxpayer-funded abortion until two weeks before the Genereal Election. In that scenario, we could actually have a Republican candidate who is more pro-choice than the Democrat nominee ...
By going through this process, bloggers are ultimately doing two things:
1. Helping inform the voters to make a better decision regarding who best represents their values.
2. Ensuring Republican voters have enough information to nominate a strong Republican candidate who has been tested -- before going into a General Election.
Granted, not all bloggers are responsible. That's how free speech works. But the cure for our problems is more debate and argument -- not less.
Enough of the hand-wringing. Politics is tough. Get a helmet!

i liked him better when he was unflinchingly saying ‘don’t vote for me if you don’t agree with my positions.’ my respect for him will plummet if he doesn’t stand firm on that, and tries to back away.
How convenient. Now that’s it’s law he disavows it.
I also suspect there is a major story behind the first quarter fund-raising figures that isn’t getting a lot of attention, either.
Does that mean you are voting FOR Doody Rudy?

It means Rudy would rather blame the blogsphere than look at his own missteps over the last week. Ya gotta admit, he's made a few doozies over the last ten days or so.
All the blogsphere is doing is getting out Rudy's own words and videos of Rudy's own past appearances and utterances. Candidates can no longer use campaign advertising to drown out their past OR their present fallocies.

Would someone please inform Rudy and the MSM exactly what a blog is and isn’t?
No, he saw that the end result was not the original intention of the bill, and can see the circumvention of the law.
No, Fred USED to support McCain-Feingold. He thinks it needs to be replaced with instant and full disclosure.
Rudy thinks McCain-Feingold has holes that need to be plugged.
They have taken diameterically opposed directions to the fact it is not working.
And Rudy's still going the wrong way.
Ah, I get it. What we called flip-flopping in John Kerry we applaud in Fred Thompson.
Actually, I know of at least one major consultant to the Giuliani campaign who is signed up here.
Note the operative phrase at the end. And the fact that someone isn't "doing the bidding" of a campaign or candidate doesn't mean they aren't an integral part of the campaign.
That's my point.
And yes, his performance in the last couple of weeks has been less than stellar. But that doesn't change the fact that his point about it being spread across the 'net is a valid one.
Call it what you want. I happen to respect a man who sees bad legislation and says it was a mistake. At least Fred Thompson understands the U.S. Constitution.
I think there are some legit points in that article. The reality is that the big 3 all stink to some degree or another to the conservative base.
A flip flop is "I voted for the 87 billion before I voted against it"
Seeing the effect of a policy you once supported and then changing your mind, is a good thing.
Of course I expect the Rudephiles to keep up that pathetic "flip flop" attack on Mitt and spread it to Fred.
