Steve Forbes Joins Giuliani Campaign

Steve Forbes, former Republican presidential candidate, President and Chief Executive Officer of Forbes, and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes magazine has endorsed Rudy Giuliani for President of the United States. Mr. Forbes will serve as a National Campaign Co-Chair and Senior Policy Advisor:

“I am honored to support Rudy Giuliani for President,” Steve Forbes said. “As Mayor of New York City, Rudy Giuliani showed how exercising fiscal discipline – including tax cuts – lowers deficits, spurs economic growth, and increases revenue. It is time the rest of the country benefit from a true fiscal conservative leader who gets real results.”

“Steve and I share an economic vision that embraces supply-side economics, tax relief, and spending restraint,” said Mayor Giuliani. “I look forward to working with Steve and am proud to have him as a member of our team.”

Nice addition, as those of us who value economic liberty certainly look to Mr. Forbes as a leader on that front.

Wow! IF there's a financial conservative who understands the importance of rolling back or at least slowing the socialism of the Democrats, it's Forbes.

This is impressive. I would vote for Forbes in a heartbeat. If Guiliani wins, I hope Forbes has his ear.

I'm glad he's on Rudy's team! Good call for Steve Forbes.

Always liked Steve Forbes--a smart and decent guy. As a matter of fact, I cancelled my subscription to Fortune after they did that awful, detestable hatchet job on him.

But Rudy is still a gun grabber and supporter of outright infanticide (that is, "late term abortion").

There are about 4 to 5 Rudy sites started by Freepers - and they are all on both Free Republic and the other ones.

Yes, right now it appears that many "conservatives" are willing to close their eyes and pretend lotsa things about Giuliani did not happen. Post 11, for example.

I remember quite a few Freepers liked him when he ran in 2000

I liked Steve Forbes--I voted for him in the primary. :)

This is good news!

Anyone else getting a server error for FR when they refresh? Or is it just me?

I was getting that too, earlier.

Malcom Forbes, Jr. always was a phony conservative. This is just more proof.

So you guys think that what you are doing will stop people from liking Rudy? It seems to attract the same people over and over again to your side. Strange - the people who say they will never vote for Rudy are the same ones over and over again. No one new. I just added three Freeper people to the Rudy ping list so I guess its not working. Maybe try something else for a change.

I'm an NRA member with a CCW in New York state, I'm pro life and pro traditional family values...and I support Mr. Giuliani.

(and you should stick to arguing your points rather than calling people names)

The Reagan coalition included democrats and Independents.

GASP!!!! OMG! NOOOOOOO!! Shocker!

That was part of the charm of Reagan - he could get Blue Dog Democrats and Independents to vote for him.

Yes it did. Many of the conservative dems flipped to the GOP. Newt and Bill Bennett were two of them. But Reaganism was the core. And it was a decidedly conservative core. Giulianiism is not much different than Clintonism, other than Clinton was tougher on Illegal aliens and more pro 2nd Amendment.

Until now, I thought Steve Forbes was one of the smart ones. Oh well.

Just what I was thinking. Evidently Rudy and Steve share the same economic ideas.....A 21st century ecomomy supplied with 18th century labor.
