Steve Forbes Joins Giuliani Campaign

Steve Forbes, former Republican presidential candidate, President and Chief Executive Officer of Forbes, and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes magazine has endorsed Rudy Giuliani for President of the United States. Mr. Forbes will serve as a National Campaign Co-Chair and Senior Policy Advisor:

“I am honored to support Rudy Giuliani for President,” Steve Forbes said. “As Mayor of New York City, Rudy Giuliani showed how exercising fiscal discipline – including tax cuts – lowers deficits, spurs economic growth, and increases revenue. It is time the rest of the country benefit from a true fiscal conservative leader who gets real results.”

“Steve and I share an economic vision that embraces supply-side economics, tax relief, and spending restraint,” said Mayor Giuliani. “I look forward to working with Steve and am proud to have him as a member of our team.”

Nice addition, as those of us who value economic liberty certainly look to Mr. Forbes as a leader on that front.

Well, if the GOP no longer has a place for us, then Hillary can HAVE the White House. We don't need two Democrat parties.

Maybe the republican party can return to be the big tent party that it must be or expire.

Yes, a good summation of Giuliani on the issues. As for his alleged "fiscal conservatism," I'm still waiting for him to lay out his great economic plans. Tough on terrorism? Not if he doesn't gain control of the borders and deport all the illegals already here.

Isn't the "tent" big enough as it is? If anything, it could do with a good purge.

Fiscal conservatism, less government intervention in our lives, and public security
Those are top issues for me this election. I want to see this country get back to promoting self-government - personal liberty and personal responsibility - including the freedom to screw up and outright fail and keep government out of our lives as much as possible.

Amen. That is what the real republican party is about.

Iran- not yet a nuclear power- has the audacity to take British service people hostage in an act of war. Oil prices shoot up.

It's a glimpse into the future.

Some Liberals/Democrats don't care. They just want to know how a Presidential candidate stands on Abortion. Gay rights.

Some Republicans/Conservatives don't care. They just want to know how a Presidential candidate stands on Abortion. Gay rights.

Same crazy thinking. Just different direction.

I just added three Freeper people to the Rudy ping list so I guess its not working.

Well, given your man has a mere 11% of the voter preference in the current FR poll, you're delusional if you think if you're making any progress in trying to convince conservatives to vote for this RINO.

But, you better damn well understand, if the GOP throws social conservatives, gun owners and those opposed to illegal immigration under a bus, millions of people will go from Republican party voters to doing everything possible to assure this RINO is defeated.

The long-term consqences for the GOP will be even more horrific if Giuliani ends up in the White House as the GOP loses seats in Congress due to Rudy's liberalism and becomes entrenched as a permanent minority. If all that happens, real conservatives will rebuild the party in the image of Reagan and force people like you to the back of the bus.

How many of those items listed in #117 are "keeping govt out of our lives"?

Rudy wants government intrusion to enforce a radical liberal agenda, despite his pretending to be conservative now. His record is clear.

Don't you just wish! But in the unlikely event that Rudy should become toast, whatever would you do for a social life?

Amen. That is what the real republican party is about.

I agree. If we are not about freedom - what are we about? I don't want government as a parent or a preacher. I want government doing a limited number of things and actually doing them well(s).

GEE! A FR Poll! I forgot every election hinges on FR Polls! (/sarcasm)

Yup Rudy is shaking in his boots! (/sarcasm)

Same thing I'm already planning on doing. Actively support the conservative nominee to win the presidential election. Whether its Hunter, Romney, Tancredo, Thompson, Newt, Brownback, or Huckabee.

You're delusional if you think that FR is representaive of more than 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000457% of the voting population.

I will not vote for another big spending socialist after the social conservatives gave us comrade Bush

So, because Bush alienated economic conservatives, you want to do further damage to the GOP by throwing social conservatives, gun owners and those opposed to illegal immigration under a bus? Isn't that brilliant?

I guarantee you that idiocy will cost millions of votes and cripple the GOP.

I don't plan on voting for either a big-spending socialists OR some gun-grabbing, social liberal that panders to illegals. The GOP returns to the principles of Reagan or it becomes a minority for years to come.

The anti-Rudy crowd here seem to start off with name calling and then present its views and facts, if they have any. I got to admit, though, that they are fast with the charts - none faster!
