Perhaps you squids out there who went to the Boat School can answer this: I heard Jim Webb boxed Ollie North for the championship of some weight division at the Academy. And that Webb was very upset that North was awarded the win. Webb claimed that North was hitting after the bell.
Is this true, in whole or part?

They fought and North won... Split decision as I recall and Emerson Smith, the boxing coach was the ref. Smith's scoring won the match for North. Word is that Webb never forgave Smith, who I believe died a few years ago. Both fought well and it probably could have gone either way... No recollection of low blows...
