How awful. Prayers for his recovery.
"no need to post their hate-filled speech here."
While we ALL are concerned, and wish him well, it would behoove us, the ones at the forefront of the Culture War, to be reminded just how deep the animosity of the left runs...
They can't help themselves, and are blinded by the hatred.
Oh No.... Tony my Prayers are with you! You will beat it again!
I Know. It's the same thing I have. Stage 4 colon cancer that is now in the liver. I have had it fr 4 years and am still fighting it. It isn't one big battle, it is more like a series of fights that keep buying you some time.
Thanks, I appreciate that. I had CT scans last week and I'm still waiting to hear from my oncologist that all is clear. Scanxiety is driving me crazy.
Made a quick visit to the DU thread. For once they are acting very sympathetic. One thread even said Tony was the best press secretary ever, even if he was on the "dark side." I would never have thought it of them.
I wonder if anyone knows how to send a note or card to Tony and his family? I'd love to deluge his home with prayers.
Still praying for you Tony. We love you, God bless you.
Where to send card? Email?
Tony, I'm hoping this small lesion is quite treatable and that you'll soon be in remission and back on your feet, enjoying your wonderful family and life. God bless you all.
You're all in my prayers.
Prayers indeed! Hang in there Tony, with God's help you can beat this thing! I wonder, did Tony ever smoke cigarettes? I had a close friend that had a similar prognosis. He smoked all his life---then at 54 he was diagnosed with colon cancer which was brought under control. 3 years later cancer shows up in his liver, but he lived another 4 years. He was advised by his doctor to stop smoking immediately after the colostomy. He didn't. He continued to smoke regularly until the liver diagnosis. Only then did he stop---and with great difficutly. But he did live another 4 years--most of it quality.
This breaks my heart...Tony, know that you are very, very loved.
"Treatable" Yep they have a lot more chemicals up their sleeves than they did 10 years ago. The infusion outpatient clinics go on 24/7. Most of those folks go in on a regular basis to keep the cancer at bay. (DC area) My husband was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2004 and he goes in every 6 months for chemo to scare it off. The DR. said that 10 years ago they would not be able to do anything for him. He did not miss a days work and is healthy and feels good at this point. Hey, something will eventually take all of us out.
To all the haters out there, get this straight. President Bush is not and would not "throw Tony under the bus." The last thing Tony would want is for us to use his tragedy as yet another cheap excuse to bash the President he works for and respects. Furthermore, not everything is about politics.
Here is the truth:
Tests show Snow's cancer has returned
By JENNIFER LOVEN, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - Presidential spokesman Tony Snow's surgery to remove a small growth showed that his cancer has returned and spread to his liver, the White House said Tuesday.
President Bush, making a brief statement to reporters in the Rose Garden, struck an optimistic tone that echoed how aides said Snow was feeling. Bush said he looked forward to the day when Snow returns to the White House.
"His attitide is one that he is not going to let this whip him," Bush said. "My attitude is that we need to pray for him."

Snow spoke with President Bush early Tuesday to deliver the news.
"It is hard news for us," Perino said. "President and Mrs. Bush and the whole White House team has him in our prayers."

Tony is one of the best! My prayers for him and his family.
Probably best to check the White House web site. I believe there is an official Office of the Press Secretary (where all the press releases originate). If I find something I will ping you. (perhaps Dr. Levin might have some info when his show comes on, or Rush, or Hannity.)
Prayers for Tony Snow and his family. He seems such a good man in his personal and professional life. He is a pleasure to watch and listen to, exemplifying the very best of the USA. God Bless him now as he faces this new challenge.
