Note the date, people; this is over a year old. I've actually seen this guy speak in person and he's *very* credible. The hearings, etc., with Sen. Going back to the time just prior to our entry in to Iraq, the Israeli intelligence was reporting that Saddam was moving what was most likely WMD into Syria.

Why was that discounted and ignored?

Maybe Bush is silent on the issue because he would have to prove it. Probably hard to do, unless we went into Syria.

Saddam Hussein had plenty of time to prepare to move WMDs out of the country. We certainly did enough saber rattling that he knew our intentions. Our saber rattling included two Joint (House and Senate) Congressional resolutions: A) AUTHORIZATION FOR USE OF MILITARY FORCE AGAINST IRAQ RESOLUTION OF
2002, B) IRAQ LIBERATION ACT OF 1998. If memory serves, Saddam Hussein sent his Air Force to Iran for safe keeping during the first Iraq war. Working with a fellow Arab state against the United States was part of Saddam's MO. Arabs have a well ordered hierarchy of conflict. They war, yet join ranks against a more foreign enemy. General Saeda is not the only General to say that that Hussein moved WMDs to Syria. Our own Marine General Mike DeLong has stated this on many occasions.
