Duncan Hunter: The Weekly Answers Thread, courtesy of Sam Hunter (3/23/2007)
Free Republic | 03/23/2007 | Various Freepers and Sam Hunter

Posted on 03/23/2007 12:31:42 PM PDT by Ultra Sonic 007

As many of you may know, Sam Hunter has recently become the Hunter Campaign's ambassador to Free Republic. He serves as a direct line to Duncan Hunter, under the username "Duncan Hunter Ambassador". You have questions? Sam has answers.

Unfortunately, Sam has been busy for most of this week campaigning for his father in Washington. Alas, it is the curse of being only one man. So there aren't so many answers this week. However, for those who missed last week's thread, Sam answered multiple questions, including ones regarding Ramos and Compeon, China, Guantanamo, and his opinion of treasonous cretins like Jane Fonda and John Kerry.

Without further ado, I give you Sam Hunter.

(Opening Statement from Sam Hunter)

"Thank you all for the warm welcome. I am here to represent my father to the best of my ability. I will work hard to respond to every post, although it may take a while to answer all of them, as I am only one person. I look forward to our discussions in the future."

(And just to clear up any confusion...)

"As much as I would love to have the title of a marine, I cannot take credit for that. You are referring to my older brother Duncan D. Hunter. I was there helping Duncan while he was in South Carolina, although my name was not mentioned."

(Just to erase any confusion on the matter.)

Q: What would President Hunter to do to dismantle unconstitutional bureaucracies in the Federal Government (the Department of Education, for example, or the FBI, and so on)? After all, nothing in the Constitution gave the Federal government law enforcement powers. Same for the Department of Education.

Sam: Dad believes in cutting the bureaucracy whenever possible. For a number of years he mandated the reduction of 25,000 bureacrats per year from the Federal Government, as an example.

-

Q: I talk to a lot of seniors here locally about Duncan Hunter. Mostly they like what he has to say but they worry about their issues as well. Things like affordability of medicines are a concern.

Sam: Dad voted for the Bipartisan Medicare Plan that provided for prescription drug benefits. So far the plan is gaining acceptance among senior citizens and has cost less money than projected.

-

Q: Was Duncan at the Gathering of Eagles in DC today? If not, why not?

Sam: Dad sends his apologies for not making the troop rally in D.C., due to commitments in Arizona and California. However, only eight days ago dad was with the troops in Fallujah, Ramadi and at the U.S. hospital in Germany.

-

xxxx

And there you have it.

Hopefully, Sam will return to Free Republic soon. But in absence of Sam, a multitude of articles about Duncan Hunter's past have been posted within the last week. For those curious about Hunter's record about the Second Amendment, Illegal Immigration, and his support for the military, click here.

Also, Duncan Hunter will be appearing at Keene State in New Hampshire on March 26th.

Tune in next week for more answers!

Ultra, you've done a great job on this.

I'm curious what Rep. Hunter feels about Ahmadinijab coming to America and how he would handle the issue of the kidnapping of the British sailors. I realize that now Ahmanutjob won't be coming and that the UN is here in states so we really can't refuse him. Just wondering how he would have handled the situation with the additional problem of the kidnapping allies.

If I have any questions today it would be 'What are Duncan Hunter's feelings on country of orgin labeling of food'?.

I'm thinking about this due to the fact that the tainted pet food story seems to be centering around poisoned wheat from China of all places. What happens if the same accident happens and poisoned wheat (or other food) goes to Chef Boyardee or something?

*****************

Excellent question! I'd like to hear the answer to this as well.

Yes, it's a shame the GOP seems to be lacking in vet Congressman and candidates. Duncan Hunter and his son happen to be great candidates for this. The right politics and it's always better with vets, especially now. And I'll take a vet's appeal more than I will an actor's.

Hi Sam:

What does Duncan Hunter think is the most effective use of freepers' time for increasing his name recognition as a candidate?

"Hi Sam:

Last night a caller called Drudge and mentioned Duncan Hunter's name. That seems like a good way to get his name out. Millions of listeners are hearing the talk shows.

BTW: What happened to Duncan not speaking at the Iowa Caucus dinner? I was really looking forward to him.

Overall, Tancredo got the only standing applause. Huckabee earned some sincere respect. Romney's message did not sound nearly as good as previously advertised by the MSM.
