They are funny!
The little town in Mississippi that I am from fits that one pretty good.
If I wanted to mail my Dad a letter I could quite literally just put his name and the zipcode on it with nothing else. He would get it.
We lived out on a 205 acre spread. If you wanted to find us you could just roll into town and ask for my Dad by name.
The directions would go something like this:
Hit the highway (highway 51) and head to Hazlehurst. Veer off to the right when you get to tarbaby's house. (a local family - I think it was his grandfathers nickname. Nobody knows for sure) Follow that road past Ashleys store (it's been closed for 10 years - torn down for 5) around the big curve where the feed mill use to be (it burned down 30 years ago) and across the rail road tracks. Take a left and go past Beauregard (no sign - it's a small community about 4 miles out of town it may be referred to as "the woodyard" which closed 20 years ago). Keep going you will pass the cemetery. When you get to the Remingtons old place take a left. (The Remingtons are still there but the land has been split many times between the siblings.). Go up the hill and the road will turn to dirt. Keep going down the hill, over the creek and on your right - just at the top of the hill - you will see the old Ben Furlow place. That's where you want to go. (Ben Furlow has been dead 130 years)

Family and friends await the arrival of their sailors from the frigate USS Taylor, as she pulls into its homeport Naval Station Mayport after a successful surge deployment, Mar. 9, 2007. During the deployment, the USS Taylor served as the Scene of Action Commander in the Northern Arabian Gulf, and assumed a central role in the security of the Iraqi oil platforms, which help to stabilize the Iraqi economy.
