Chicago -- This wasn't any barfight caught on tape. An angry man pummels a much smaller female bartender. As it turns out, he's a Chicago police officer and late Tuesday night he was taken into custory. Craig Wall has the complete details on this exclusive story.

So is Obama afraid of losing the Chicago police vote...or has he condemned this attack on his home turf?

I woulda broke his fracking teeth! That's what amazes me. Three other "men" in the bar stand there and watch.
One "man" is within 10 feet with clear access to the scumbag and can think to do nothing but stand there and point!
I'd have started with a kick to the groin to get his attention and followed with a sharp blow to the throat to drop the POS.
Man! I can't stand guys who would beat on a woman.

He was one of 100 Chicago police officers who had been hired despite having prior drug or alcohol related driving offenses. Abbate had also been arrested for drag racing and driving on a suspended license. Huh.

"Until you told me we did not know he had a prior DUI," Ekl said to CBS 2's Dave Savini.
I realize 100 cops is not a large percentage overall in a large police dept like Chicago's, but those having a prior history of bad behavior should be keep on a short rope
This guy was out of control long before he attacked this women

There are bad cops, and the good police hate them as much as we do. They usually are dealt with withing their own society... and they usually get dealt with damn well! Please. Cops look the other way.

My brother is a police officer, I use to believe that cops were very decent, but not anymore. I think the majority are corrupt from the top down. Maybe not overtly corrupt, but they let each other go and do little favors for each other. They think they are little gods....(the majority).

Thanks.
From Drudge: "Another individual came in moments after the attack and attempted to offer the victim money in order for her not to prosecute the defendant," Navarro said."
Yes, there were other cops there. State's atty office says they're looking at obstruction and intimidaitng a witness charges. They might have Alzheimer's though.

"Please. Cops look the other way."Not all. A Chicago cop shot a college student after a high speed chase a few years ago. He thought backup hadn't arrived yet. He tossed a throwdown gun on the kid. Backup had already arrived, saw hte whole thing, and turned him in immediately.

Well the reporter said the bar/bartender has been harassed by someone close to the cop. It may be a cliche, but cops do protect their own. Even if the guys in the bar weren't cops, they probably knew he was. Who do you call when the cops break the law?

Look at those fricking COWARDS stand there and WATCH!
That is exactly what I thought the first time I saw this video also.
But one must remember that this was in Chicago, where people are disarmed and convinced that no actions need to, or can, be taken by individuals. Every decision in life is to be made by elected officials for the 'common good'.

"With that video she will be able to collect millions from the City."She shouldn't be able to collect from the attack itself, because that's not the city's doing. She should be able to collect, because the other cops failed to do anything about it, and they attempted to cover it up.

They were probably all his pals (other cops)...
If a place is a cop bar, that's pretty much all you're going to get in there. They tend to scare the regulars off.

I know I'm being overly cynical. Yes, there are plenty of good cops. But there is a threshold under which they will NOT gig another cop. Some just have a higher threshold.

"Who do you call when the cops break the law?"In this case the IL State police, or feds. They'll do an honest job. It's risky to call anyone else, even the State's atty office.

Regardless, the men in the bar should have done something.

At least throw a stool at him. Cmon he's beating a woman half his size and his punches are full force. He coulda killed her.
To: Ieatfrijoles
There will be a Congressional Commission appointed shortly to determine if alcohol was involved.
