From the NY Post:
DAN Quayle, who flies into New York one week a month from Indianapolis for his work with Cerberus, at San Pietro, predicting to Nancy and Bill O’Shaughnessy that Mitt Romney will win the GOP nomination for president…
When one has to work the graveyard shift as a vampire, being kind becomes difficult.
I would agree, however, that William Buckley has definitely declined.
This was a great coup for Romney.
WAS. And one could not make that much difference with the packaging - one better have something besides a masshole to package. As Omar Khayyam wrote long ago, if a good wine is not diluted with water, there's little need for praising it.
Jack Kemp was a great vice presidential running mate.
You are exactly right TAdams8591. Dan Quayle is one of the most decent, thoughtful, and intelligent people around.
jatopilot99, you signed up at Free Republic two days ago, and so far you have posted some of the most uninformed, superficial nonsense straight out of the DNC talking points. You seem exactly like a democrat to me too.
I agree. Dan was/is more of a bedrock Reagan conservative than Papa Bush. Maybe he got the VP too early; he wasn't quite ready for "prime time" and peaked too early. Had he developed over a few more years I think he would have made a viable presidential candidate. A helluva lot better than the liberal lightweight "I act conservative at home" Evan Bayh for certain.
I use to do that but now I stay up even if I really like to sleep...
Crazy!
I'm just saying that Romney has for over 40 years supported the proabortion movement. That is sad. As a Christian Conservative, I cannot bring myself to support the illusion that Mitt is.
Just recently, the man came out in support of the people who put Terri Schiavo to death. And he criticized one of our most heroic Generals who had spoken out against homosexuals in the military. I just don't think Mitt is Presidential material, and he certainly isn't a conservative.
One of the greatest things that Bush did was to make a concerted effort to save Terri. It's scary to know that Mitt would have sided with the monsters that decided to kill her.
I don't think any true conservative is buying the Mitt Romney product. Go Hunter/Thompson ticket!
Jack Kemp was a man full of good ideas.
There you go again. You still sound like a democrat and one who wants to throw people from supporting the best Republican candidate in the race. This conservative and Terri Schindler supporter isn't buying YOU!
Duncan Hunter is a true conservative, that is why I encourage everyone to support a Duncan and Thompson ticket. Mitt Romney has been giving Planned Parenthood millions of dollars for years under his leadership.
If you support his anti-life stance then it is you who is espousing liberal democratic values. Try not to let your passion for a politician muddle your conservative values (I believe you consider yourself conservative).
Concerning the Gen. Pace issue, I couldn't improve on the response given by FReeper redgirlinabluestate, so I'll just quote her below with a ping:
There was no attack on General Pace. The one thing I will add to redgirl's response is the video evidence of Mitt Romney's comments regarding Gen. Pace in the CNN interview on Larry King Live on 3/15/07. Judge for yourself Mitt's demeanor while making the comments about Gen. Pace in light of redgirl's information above. The comments come at 09:35 into the video. Hold the mouse button down on the fast forward button of the viewer to skip ahead.Romney merely agreed with what Pace had said himself about the original comment.
While they both agree with the "Don't ask, Don't tell" policy and the reasons behind it, they both admit that Pace's personal opinions may have been better shared in a different capacity rather than as a general commanding gay troops in harm's way in Afghanistan and Iraq.
If he had made his comments as a scout leader or while leading a Bible study group they seem more than reasonable.
This is what Romney was agreeing with:
General Pace released a statement Tuesday saying,
"In expressing my support for the current policy, I also offered some personal opinions about moral conduct. I should have focused more on my support of the policy and less on my personal moral views."

People also conveniently forget what else Romney said on the gay issue during the same interview:
KING: Did you support gay marriage in Massachusetts?
M. ROMNEY: Never have. I oppose gay marriage and civil union, if it's equivalent to gay marriage. And the reason for that is not because I -- I don't want to show respect and tolerance for other people, but because marriage is primarily about the development and nurturing of children. And children deserve a mom and a dad.
So I -- I support traditional marriage and have probably been in the center -- the center of the battlefield on all important social issues in America over the last several years -- not only gay marriage, where I opposed gay marriage,
Mitt really made a fool of himself in South Florida.
That's what he gets for always trying to appear to be something he's not.
"Cover the road," and become roadkill...
Backfill.
Folks got it the first time.
You are absolutely right EternalVigilance. Romney is trying to be someone he is not. He has lived the last 40 years supporting the homosexual agenda and anti-life groups like Planned Parenthood. Mitt should speak that truth and just let everyone know his liberal positions.
Hunter/Thompson ticket!
On most issues, Mitt has taken a conservative stand for years. He has changed his position on two social issues and is running on a conservative plank. In many respects, he is a dream candidate.
Ok, we agree to disagree. By the way, I totally agree with your tagline. Rudy is to the left of Sheila Jackson Lee.
I think you're a troll.
For someone who claims to be supporting Duncan Hunter, all of your posts are anti-Romney and are confined to Romney threads.
