In typical take-no-prisoners fashion, DeLay, who left Congress last year after his indictment in Texas on charges related to campaign financing, lashes out at Newt Gingrich, the former speaker, and other fellow leaders of the 1994 Republican revolution. He criticizes the Republican leader of the ethics panel that admonished him, calls former President Clinton "slimy" and portrays leading Democrats as his evil liberal tormentors. [snip]......
"I consider George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Denny Hastert all to be good men," DeLay writes, "but there is not an articulate voice among them." [end snips]......
When is that trial supposed to begin???
Regardless of the outcome I sure would like to know if Ronnie Earle is as big an ass as he thinks he is...
I honestly want him to get a chance to prove it...
And if Tom DeLay is found guilty by a jury of his peers, to me that will be an example of the beauty of our system...
And if he (DeLay) is found not guilty...Well...Lets just say that spot they had reserved for Tom Delay should not go to waste...
The only thing I really want to stress is this...Just remember that what you hear on the news id just that, news...It is not evidence...
His enemies, limp-wristed liberals, Dems and GOPers in the government and in the media, wanted him to wear a hair shirt in his book and give a pass to the weak-spined Republicans we all know and love.
Instead, to their HORROR, he went on the offensive, calling a spade a spade.
When was the last time a Republican leader went on the offensive full bore? Name three, two.......or even one.
DeLay is a man's man in this day of too many finely-coiffed, mentally-delicate, self-serving, metrosexual males using up precious oxygen in the House and Senate.

It comes from Delay and it has a taint of bitterness in it,but he isnt far off.
I agree. I too am so very tired of the weak republican leadership too afraid to stand up for conservative ideas principles and libs.

I agree with you, and you hit the nail on the head about how bitter Tom DeLay is about all of this...
I certainly don't blame him...
But like I said before...When and if the trial he's supposed to get aquites or convicts him...
I am holding out all personal opinion and judgement until that occurs...

This looks a lot like a drowning man flailing and trying to drag down the lifeguard who's trying to rescue him.
A 179-page memoir? That's pretty darn thin. I'm relatively young and pretty unremarkable, but I think I could crack 200. Why bother with a memoir if you don't have more than that?
This smells like it was dashed off and timed for effect. What effect? That has me scratching my head. I cant make heads nor tails of it. But there's plenty of red meat to go around -- for DeLay supporters, "The Hammer" is back and banging, and for the left, he's banging on Gingrich and company.

I think Cheney is extremely articulate.
The forfeiture by the Republicans has zip to do with DeLay's legal problems. It has everything to do with Republicans first neglecting then forgetting the ones who sent them.
DeLay IS or WAS a large part of that problem and NO part of the solution. He was the spokesman who visited the Rush Limbaugh show and defended Republicans budgetary prowess even as Rush tried to feed him an eephus pitch that should still be in orbit.
The question is no longer why the clowns couldn't see beyong their noses, but what to do about it today. I think there still is a tremendoud conservative ocean to tap into, and it does require some eloquence. I also think the DeLay of bygone days could still be a worthy leader, but he does need to rinse off some of the clown makeup. And that has zip to do with legal issues.
Not only do they not stand up for conservative ideas, they suck up everything the Liberals throw at them, e.g., lies, distortions, and threats via their anti-American human debris like Pelosi, Schumer, Reid, Boxer, Queen Hillary, Murtha, Kerry, Kennedy and the rest of the traitors.
This was what is called a political execution. And it worked.
