Republican Rudy Giuliani is the most appealing presidential contender in the United States, according to a poll by Rasmussen Reports. 31 per cent of respondents say they will definitely vote for the former New York City mayor if he runs for president in 2008.

Democratic New York senator Hillary Rodham Clinton is a close second with 30 per cent, followed by Democratic Illinois senator Barack Obama with 28 per cent, Republican Arizona senator John McCain with 21 per cent, and Democratic former North Carolina senator John Edwards with 20 per cent.

When asked which candidate they would definitely not support in the 2008 presidential ballot, 46 per cent of respondents mention Rodham Clinton. Edwards is second on the list with 39 per cent, followed by Obama with 37 per cent, McCain with 34 per cent, and Giuliani with 28 per cent.

"Sadly for you, it is a lie. I am as conservative as anyone here, as conservative as you, and that remains factually true whether you acknowledge it or not. Your personal opinion is immaterial."

Yeah, right! You are spending an awful lot of time here defending yourself from being called a liberal. If you are so confident about yourself being a conservative, why are your panties all twisted in a knot?

Come on! Out yourself tonight and see how freeing it is to be honest with yourself and everyone else. There's no shame in being a liberal. Oh wait a minute, there actually is since most liberals aren't proud to be one. It's a tough spot to be in isn't it?

I refuse to be lied about here.

I'm not a liberal. I am a social conservative. A bunch of online tweps calling me a liberal doesn't make me one.

All this anti Rudy propaganda on FR is getting very tiresome. I hope that some will change their tactics and just say who they are FOR, not against.

That being said I am FOR Rudy, and I am a conservative.

BS.

For example, they will falsely claim that Rudy is a "fiscal conservative". When confronted with facts, what happens?

Turning the Page
July 9, 2001
By E.J. McMahon

Seven years after Mayor Giuliani led New York out of its last fiscal crisis, the city's budget has now come almost full circle.

Giuliani took office declaring that city government was too big and taxes were too high. His first two budgets cut the headcount of city employees and reduced spending, setting the stage for both tax cuts and a series of surpluses.

But that fiscal discipline had begun to unravel by the middle of the mayor's first term. Over the past four years, the city's spending on operations has risen so fast that it has now caught up with and surpassed the revenue bulge accumulated during the 1996-2000 economic boom.

The latest adopted budget, which Giuliani has submitted to the state Financial Control Board (FCB) for certification this week, will raise the city's employee headcount to a new high and increase city spending at nearly twice the inflation rate.

How could you? You don't criticize Rudy.

Well, whoop-dee-doo. Send me to the woodshed for that. I don't slam any of the GOP candidates, knowing that one of them will be the eventual nominee. Once I select my favorite, I will post IN FAVOR of that candidate and leave them slamming of his rivals to negative posters like you.

There's really no point in engaging deliberately obtuse posters who don't understand that words mean things.

Being on a par of likeability with Mrs. Bill Clinton isn't much to crow about!

Especially when the only other Republican on the list was McCain.

"I think right now....the GOP
has lost it's identity. "

I agree, things don't look too good right now. It's all the more reason why we need to keep up the fight for our conservative values and principles. That's the reason why Jim Robinson founded FR. If enough of us stick together and fight for what we believe in, we can turn the tide back on the liberalism that's been creeping into the GOP the past several years. Together we still can make a difference. Let's not throw in the towel just yet!

Anyone who knows you at all and then proceeds to call you anything but a conservative is a liar, and not a very good one at that.

"GOP seems to be uniting behind Rudy....it's just a few on FR that are all hysterical."

Your premises are...

Wrong. Not anywhere near a plurality is in fact for RG and it is very early in the race.

Wrong. It is not just a few at FR who are against him.

Right. Just a few who are shilling for him and just a few who are desperately against him are hysterical.

The rest of us are eating popcorn, praying and looking for other, stronger Conservative candidates.

Pass the butter and salt, please.

I'm eating popcorn, not jumping on any botwagon.

I'm sorry but that is not spam. Each of those were on different threads. That is not spam.

They only call it spam because they don't like what is being said. No one gives a **** what the Rudylovers think anyway. They've already sold their souls for the most radically liberal GOP presidential candidate EVER and lost all credibility. Their opinions are worth nothing and their complaints worth even less. They are, simply, pollution.

These "conservatives" for Rudy remind me of the talk show callers who invariably claim to be lifelong conservatives right before spouting leftist drivel.

Comparing Guiliani to a flaming socialist like Clinton isn't exactly a ringing endorsement.

When you're talking about raw charisma tho -- he was talking about how Guilani worked the room, connected with the folks there, sounded very much like he knew what he was talking about and he was very credible.

"I'm not a liberal. I am a social conservative. A bunch of online tweps calling me a liberal doesn't make me one."

You've lied to us by saying Santorum supports Rudy, That's a lie and you can report me to FR, FBI, CIA, or whoever else you want to complain to. Your lie is posted on another thread and it can be proved. If you were smart, you wouldn't keep bringing it up, but since you do, why don't you go the extra mile and post every comment you made about Santorum supporting Rudy and see what the real facts are. I challenge you to do it.

You are right, just because people call you a liberal, that doesn't make you one. You are one because you are supporting a liberal. That's the only reason why you are a liberal--it's because you are supporting one. Be honest and admit it. You'll feel so much better about yourself.

"Don't be so damn childish. I tried to educate you in a civil manner."

Well I guess humor's not your bag huh? If that's your civil side then I feel sorry for you.

With regards to the spam. You could have saved a lot of time and bandwidth and educated me faster by just posting the damn link to start with.

That being said, even though it was the AM and he did tell him to stop spaming. I just don't agree that was spam. New freepers to the Rudy threads may have never seen the information before, so how could it be spam?

My guess is someone or a lot of someones complained and the Mod placated them, but I could be wrong.

By chanting "spam", the shills hope to drown out facts with the empty background noise they generate. For them that beats trying to address the truth with honest debate.
