No.
I wouldn't vote for a Giuliani/Limbaugh, Giuliani/Coulter or Giuliani/(Jim)Robinson ticket either.
And I would consider it a sign of bad judgement if any front runner made Giuliani his VP running mate.
Absolutely not. I want nothing to do with Rudy as a President. I might as well vote hillary and slit my own throat while I'm at it.
Gee whiz, what thick heads. How about a ticket with Thompson on the top?
What part of that do you not get?
"Would you actually prefer a Clinton/Edwards presidency to a Guiliani/Thompson one?"
Better question to ask is, will I personally withhold my support of a political party that has consistantly over the last 32 years bent me over a barrel and refused to even give me a kiss when they were finished?
Yep I would
I thought the same thing as I typed it :-)
Well said,Bump
No need to sit it out. There are other important issues to be voted on. Personally, I see the Presidential election as only secondary in 2008. The Senate and House are the important races. Without recapturing the House or Senate it really doesn't matter who is elected President.
Now that was to the point and very well stated. Thanks!
me too
Isn't that like letting Barney Fife be sheriff while Andy Taylor's the deputy??????
Nope. I am hoping mightily that Thompson will run. But I would not vote that ticket even if it had Fred as Prez and Rudy The Gun-Grabbing Crossdresser as Veep. I will not cast a vote for that elitist freak Giuliani. Not even for dog-catcher.
I'm just sayin'.....NO!
Yep ... when you read some of these threads, it's hard to believe we've got to go through this for another year before the primaries even start.
I voted for Alan Keyes twice in the GOP primary. So that tells you right there what sort of GOP voter I am. And I would vote for Giuliani/Thompson in a heartbeat. Alternative is Hillary! or Obama--are you kidding me?
They may not be my first pick, but I would vote for them over any democrat slate, except maybe Zell Miller/Lieberman... I won't stay home. The stakes are too high. I am principled, but not stupid.
But, others would not and it would hurt all of the other races and issues as shown in past cases.
Thompson and Watts
Sec Def - Gen Pace
Homeland Security - Duncan Hunter
Newt in a budget advisory role.
Nope. I wouldn't even vote for a Thompson/Giuliani ticket. I don't want that little gun-grabber anywhere near the reins of power.
I would prefer a Giuliani/Barbour ticket. However, I won't say no to Thompson.
Would you vote for a Giuliani/Thompson ticket?
no, why?
