Would you vote for a Giuliani/Thompson ticket?

This makes sense to me, but what do you think? Would it ease the fears of the more conservative to have Thompson as veep? Since Fred was a Senator from Tennessee it makes sense to have a Southener paired up with a New Yorker. Rudy has a higher profile and is already high in the polls so he makes more sense as the Presidential canidate.

WHO CAN WE PAIR CHUCK HAGEL UP WITH? SARCASM

Hagel/Vilsack

They are two peas in the same pod and considering Vilsack already dropped out it would save Hagel from having more narcissistic press conferences.

Rudy could serve effectively in a Thompson cabinet...

As US Attorney General with a mission to stamp out vote fraud.

How we might vote in a Rudy vs. Hillary general election scenario is one thing.

But conservatives who are letting the Hillary bogeyman scare them onto the Rudy bandwagon a year before the primaries are not thinking very clearly.

Is Rudy better than Hillary? Yes.

Is Rudy a solid conservative? No. And before the latest barrage of pro-Rudy propaganda on here, practically all of us would have agreed on that.

Would Rudy beat Hillary? Likely, but at the long-term cost of a possible fracturing of the Republican coalition.

Is Rudy the only candidate that can beat Hillary? Frankly, I've never understand why anyone thinks so.

Of course. But neither one of them would be VP.

Nope. Flip that ticket, and I'd probably vote for it.

Gulianians just don't understand that conservatives want a conservative - on both social and economic grounds - in office. Now, Republicans' have blown it entirely on the economic conservatism front in the past 12 years - but that doesn't mean the answer is to drop the social conservatism in response.

Rudy has a higher profile and is already high in the polls so he makes more sense as the Presidential canidate.

Geez, would you guys not preordain anybody and let the blasted primary voters have their say?!?!

To everyone who voted no:

Since a Guiliani/Thompson ticket would mean that the only alternatives would be either to vote Democrat, not vote or to cast a protest vote, I pose this additional question...

Would you actually prefer a Clinton/Edwards presidency to a Guiliani/Thompson one?

No, The idea of putting a nice gift tag, and bow on a pile of dog doo comes to mind..The main package is still dog doo, no matter how you might try to pretty it up.

No, but Thompson/Romney would work for me if you have to have a yankee on the ticket.

Your comment is exactly why I'm frustrated with us eating each other this early in the game.. It has become almost comical..

I'm sure things will be quite different after the primaries. IF Rudy is on the ticket, I would have to ask myself who I would rather have in my foxhole, Rudy or the 'D'.. Not voting is never an option for me.

NO!

Don't vote pro-abortion, pro-gun control or for Northern Liberals who raise taxes. I will sit this one out for the first time since I started voting (that was Reagan).

BTW, telling me that I am only hurting the party or the country by doing so will not change my mind. Give me somebody I can vote for..... a conservative, or I stay home. Being conservative means you actually have standards you will not cross. Put up a liberal and the conservative base will stay home. Thats why they call us the stupid party, because some in the leadership just can't get this through their stupid heads once they get in to the Washington crowd and keep trying to move us toward dem light.
