Would you vote for a Giuliani/Thompson ticket?

This makes sense to me, but what do you think? Would it ease the fears of the more conservative to have Thompson as veep? Since Fred was a Senator from Tennessee it makes sense to have a Southener paired up with a New Yorker. Rudy has a higher profile and is already high in the polls so he makes more sense as the Presidential canidate.

I can not forget how Sen. Thompson acted just before the klintoon Senate trial.. He just hung his head and basically ran away from the facts and would not commit to the carring on of justice! He may be a good man, but in my eye he is a coward from doing the right thing! There fore I can NOT support such a man.

Although Mr. Gingrich is popular with conservatives, he has no appeal to moderates

This is one reason why I am not crazy about Newt or, dare I say it, Duncan Hunter... While both are right in their stand, neither hold another needed quality, the ability to inspire America to Conservative values. Both are simply 'preaching to the choir' candidates. Yes, they would be great Presidents, but right now we need someone that will rebuild our values and that means a figurehead that is inspirational.

I would vote for a Thompson-*insert name here* here ticket.

Rudy Guiliani has baggage but he appeals to me as a fighter which we need. He'd be a good veep. He had the opportunity to be mayor because Dinkins stunk so bad that NYC was willing to plug their buttholes to let in a Republican. He had the help of prosecutor's offices to crack down on crime and on the mob. But he won't have any of that in this race for President. In fact he will be up against one of the most evil persons to ever threaten the USA, HRC - Her Royal Clintoness. And Mr. Guliani will have no means of conducting a sting operation on her. He will score points in debates but he will run a clean campaign while she leads MoveOn to rig the voter lists everywhere. There will be massive mail ballot fraud. As she said herself after the Republican defeat in 2006 "You ain't see nothing yet!"

But Fred Thompson has the opportunity to turn out so many voters that Moveon and the former BJ enabler will fail in their dirty business. Then President Thompson can put VP Guliani in charge of prosecuting MoveOn and their minions.

Yes. But I can't help thinking that USA and TNT cable networks would have to shut down 60 days prior to the election.

Nope nor would I vote for a "Guiliani/Hunter"; "Guiliani/McLame"; "Guiliani/Gingrich"; "Guiliani/Mickey Mouse" ticket.

Guiliani, if he is serious about entering national politics, needs first to get himself elected on a statewide election (i.e. Senator or Governor, perhaps even State Attorney General), serve at least one term, then come to us and claim that he desires to "serve" the Republican Party.

Right now, just like today's youth, Guiliani wants to start at the top rather than working behind the trenches and getting blisters on his feet, serving the people of his state, not merely his city.

Guiliani is merely "star power" to the media and boys smoking cigars in the back rooms attempting to be king makers.

Not a chance. Nor would I vote for a Thompson/Giuliani ticket. I won't vote for a ticket with Giuliani on it. I would vote for a Thompson/just-about-anyone-else ticket, however.

I would if that was what we were given come election day, but my choice would be Thompson and Hunter, or Hunter and Thompson.

Well, did you really mean:

"Assume that it is election time. Assume that the Republican ticket is Giuliani/Thompson with the Democratic ticket being Obama or Clinton/whomever. Would you vote for Giuliani/Thompson?"

If so, then yes. Better Giuliani than Obama or Clinton. Is Rudy my first choice? No. Would I prefer Thompson or Gingrich? Yes. But as of this point, I'll back the Republican ticket as being better than the Democratic ticket. To me that just makes sense.

Yes, and I suggested Thompson as Rudy's VP a few days ago when he most recently started making noise about running.

Well actually, no, I wasn't joking. I think he did an extraordinary job administering New York City before and after 9/11. I'm sure you'll tell me where I'm wrong. Be gentle with me, I was born with Republican stamped on my... well, I've never been anything else, nor do I envision that happening any time in the future.
