What's Happening to Conservative Websites?

I have diligently watched the rise in size and influence of conservative websites, including Free Republic, over the last 7-8 years. I have been shocked and concerned over the drop in traffic at the most popular ones over the last year or so. There was good growth up until 2006 but since then there has been a steady downtrend that would crash any other market.
Anyone have any ideas as to what is happening? I'm out of explanations. The deficiencies in alexa.com are noted, but even if the numbers aren't accurate you're still comparing off numbers to off numbers so the decline is consistent.

I'm sure the bitchy Giuliani hags ragging on real conservatives who don't support pro-abortion, anti-gun candidates have something to do with it.I'm sure comments like these have nothing to do with it.

Are you sure going straight to the forum gets missed?I don't know. Someone else said it did. (post #28)

The people voted to open the borders. Didn't you follow the last elections?
Most of them probably don't believe it, but that's what happened.

I'm sure the bitchy Giuliani hags ragging on real conservatives - snip - have something to do with it Hahaha. I'm positive you are correct however most of us are smart enough to avoid any thread they are on, and certainly not ping them to a particular thread. Never step into a cage with a tiger, they have claws.

sure, but would you have rather had two terms of Gore? do you think Alito and Roberts would be on the SCOTUS, would we have had a tax cut, imagine how the wars would have been conducted, terrorists getting US civil rights, etc.
need I go on?

Uhh, it's either the Catholics running the show or the Fundamentalists (is your argument).
Although we'd all have to agree that the Pope is probably pretty "fundamental" he's not usually thought of as a "fundie".

I agree. At my age (40) I don't really give a damn about convincing anyone else, that's why I can read the Rudy threads with interest and amazement at what people will do to make an attempt at influence.
I look around me and see many people who like to bitch about things, but can't answer basic questions about their federal government. They have no clue how good their life is, or who they owe that to, or what they should do to ensure it continues for future generations.

I just wish they would settle on a single derogatory name for anyone who considers Guliani. Right now everyone seems to have their own favorite ranging from the simply insulting to the downright weird.
There needs to be more standardization in demeaning terms.

Pure Reaganesque conservatism (ie, paleoconservatism) is being diluted.
Reason?
Illegal and legal immigration from the 3rd world is changing the demographics of the country, its culture and heritage. Iow, the country is being reclaimed by the Third Worlders and we will have to assimilate to their culture rather than they to ours.

He was attracted to the sight during the Clintoon scandals. He was involved in the Hu-Forest dust up and I think he was kicked out for attacking some zealots on a homosexual thread. But he and Mr. Robinson had several confrontations before and he wouldn't back off when he thought he was right. So the owner had the power.
But as many say, I'm a lot sweeter and easy to get along with.
He tried to get back a few weeks ago and got no response, so he lives vicariously through me.

No you are not...i have a couple of friends that are staunch conservatives...anywhoo, i haven't spoken to them in a couple of years...i spoke to both of them last week and they are just sick of it all....the war in Iraq, the border, the suck up to China..etc...and much more.
This does not bode well and i am telling these Bots and Rudy lovers that they are heading down the wrong path...but no one seems to listen anymore to the right...it's all about get Republicans in control at all costs, not conservatives.
