Rudy Giuliani had been speaking for six minutes before anyone in the audience thought to clap, which was exactly the way he wanted it. Talking to a political crowd in North Spartanburg, S.C., last month, the former New York City mayor and 2008 presidential candidate was not there to excite but to warn; he was less interested in making political promises than he was in sketching out the perils we face. He spoke in the hushed tones of the day that marked him for history, September 11, 2001, his voice barely filling the somber settingnot a hotel ballroom or a church basement, but a firehouse, festooned with American flags.

If Hunter spent it, it was spent on the war you and your president support.
NOT so nice diversion by you.
STATEMENT OF REP. HUNTER IN VOTING AGAINST THE TRANSPORTATION BILL
The House and Senate approved a $218 billion transportation funding bill which included billions of dollars in questionable, non-transportation funding. A list of some of those projects follows Rep. Duncan Hunter's (R-CA) statement.
"At a time when the Army faces a shortage of $1.7 billion in basic ammunition and our Marines are short $193 million, the highway bill contains $9 billion in funding for such things as a botanical garden, museum exhibits and a film on infrastructure awareness.'
"While I support funding to build and repair our highways and this bill has many good projects, I could not in good conscience vote for legislation which overspends the balanced budget and will possibly take money away from our national
defense."http://www.house.gov/hunter/news_prior_2006/hiway.htm
HUNTER HONORED BY SMALL BUSINESS ORGANIZATION
Washington, D.C. Congressman Duncan Hunter (CA-52) was presented with the "Guardian of Small Business" award this afternoon by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation's largest small-business advocacy group. NFIB President Jack Faris presented the award to Congressman Hunter for his voting record on behalf of small business owners in the 106th Congress.
"The record shows that when the roll is called, Representative Hunter has been a true and consistent advocate for Main Street small business," said Faris.
"I'm very proud to have received this award," said Hunter. "The small business community is a vital part of America's economy, but far too often, they are forced to function under too many regulations and heavy tax burdens. I believe this is wrong, and I will continue working to remove these obstacles and allow small businesses to earn their full potential."
NFIB tallied Congressman Hunter's voting record on 20 key small-business votes in the House of Representatives taken during the 106th Congress. Issues range from legal-reform measures, to regulatory relief, to a variety of tax-relief measures.

I, Hillary Clinton, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States...
Lets not forget the false assertion that Rudy is for partial birth abortions.
Between that and proudly proclaiming they were staying home in November of last year, they expect any conservative to court their vote? ROFL. Not going to happen.
And does anyone but me remember last September and October when so many of these same freepers were complaining about how Republicans spent too much money and they weren't going to vote for them?
Last year all we pretty much talked about was immigration and how Republicans spent too much money. Now all they can talk about is abortion and gay marriage and guns. No way are politicians courting such a fickle group again, imo.
I don't know if you've seen the clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVBtPIrEleM
But Mayor Giuliani does not support a ban on partial birth abortions, and "does not see that changing".
That's better than any sleep inducing method ever dreamed up by mankind and yes, I've seen that speech. Hunter is more wooden than algore.
No, provided they are full quotes and backed up by links.
Excellent! That's all we need to start doing on all sides. Sheesh.
No. I just stated what you said in a different manner. One that revealed the logical extrapolation of your comments.
that doesn't phase them anymore - the ones who posted honestly, don't really care if she wins. to them, its more important to preserve the socon control over the republican party, then to worry about Hillary.
Giuliani said that he supports a ban on partial-birth abortion as long as there is a provision to protect the life of the mother. "If it has provision for the life of the mother, then I would support it," he said on Hannity and Colmes on Feb. 5th 2007.
Most conservatives would not consider that a good thing.
Of course, he then turned around and made not one, but TWO speeches to NARAL leftists elites to praise both Roe and Margaret Sanger.
No way politicians are going to court the socon vote anymore, imo.
This is the same group of people who threatened they were going to stay home last November and complained all year about immigration and fiscal irresponsibility on the part of Republicans.
Now all they can talk about is abortion, guns and gay marriage. This group has shown itself too fickle for politicians to rely on or court, imo.
No, we do what comes naturally to FR conservatives - counterattack when liberals post on FR.
Sure:
In February, 2002, Giuliani insisted upon transferring guardianship of the $100 million remaining in the city-run Twin Towers Fund to a private charity he controlled. And what hatred, I ask again? The families of the police and fire rescuers who died in the attack balked at Giuliani's plan to take up to a year to dole out the money, with his new organization billing $2.2 million in anticipated administrative expenses (including six-figure salaries for friends he appointed as officers). The families argued that the fire union had far more quickly distributed $111 million with an estimated administrative cost of just $30,000.
Under embarrassing pressure from the victims' families, unions and state Attorney General Elliot Spitzer, Giuliani backed down. He promised to distribute the money within 60 days and fund his overhead from new donations. The families of the deceased rescuers, the real heroes of the September 11 attacks, received a one-time benefit of about $230,000 each from the Giuliani-privatized fund in 2002. That year, the former mayor earned some $8 million in speaking fees alone, more than $650,000 per month.
Likewise with the supporters of Mayor Giuliani. A small group of the more vocal ones throw insults around, and then try to play the victim. The "Rudy in drag" photos are a little overboard, but are minimal compared to the attacks made on folks who question the Mayor's conservative credentials.
You yourself went a short period throwing the word "FLOPSWEAT" into every other post, as if mocking other posters' opinions.
When you can get a job on Capitol Hill, which I will have starting in May with Congresswoman Virginia Foxx, 5th District NC, you can come back and talk to me.
