Why stop at the Nobel prize and presidential nomination?
He should be the Pope, secretary-general at the UN, and a judge on American Idol also...

an Oscar, a Nobel Prize and his party's presidential nomination within a span of 12 months.Good Lord, talk about a Trifecta.
Kids, don't let this happen to you...

Has the meaning of the word "cool" to describe someone changed in the last few years?

He's a laughingstock. Moments after he "won" the Oscar, his outrageous energy consumption coupled with his carbon credit paying-himself-to-plant-trees nonsense was the joke of the day. He's toast.

Al, according to him, spends a lot of time in the bathroom because he drinks so much tea. That way, he can't be held accountable for anything he does, like taking big bucks from Chinese Army bigwig Commies.

He technically didn't win an Oscar. A film in which he appeared won an oscar, which is a different thing. His appearance onstage was a big of showbiz, but there's no Oscar with his name on it, and he won't be recorded as an Oscar winner.
His producers will, he won't.
Trivia, but it relates to the premise of the article.

"He wouldn't be the only good candidate; at this point, every Democrat in the race looks Lincolnesque compared with George W. Bush. And for all the time Gore has spent around Hollywood, he'll never be a great campaigner. Even Cameron Diaz can't loosen him up. When he's in front of a crowd, he still tends to sound patronizing."
What a delusional love-fest. I think the author of this editorial has a crush on ManBearPig. I don't anybody has told this dolt that GWB is not running for president. And I don't think this dolt has any idea of who and what President Lincoln was all about. But he is right about Algore, he will always sound patronizing. That is why I printed out my 100,000 pound carbon offset certificate the other day so that I can ignore his bloviating. I did not even know that Cameron Diaz tried to loosen him up. She better get another job I think Leo Decraprio has replaced her.

Really .. these people must still believe in fantasy and the tooth fairy. They obviously have no discernment skills.
Gore's mansion in TN uses 20 times the amount of energy he is saying you are NOT entitled to use. And .. he sells his carbon offsets TO HIMSELF FROM HIS OTHER COMPANY!!
George Bush's home in Crawford is 20 times more environmentally friendly than Gore even thought about being. But .. as usual .. Bush gets no credit.
Anybody who would vote for Gore has rocks for brains. Having lived in the SF Bay Area - most of the people there have rocks for brains.

I think AlGore should run for President! If nothing else, every single FReeper who made "Gore" part of their name will sound current again throughout the election season.
Not that Al Gore is sane or anything, but from the perspective of "entertainment value? Loads of laughs, friends.
Unless he wins...

Actually, ZERO Oscars because neither Oscar went to him, and it wasn't even HIS documentary, he just starred in it (and didn't get nominated as an actor).
