RUDY DRAGGED DOWN
The New York Post ^ | 3/3/2007 | IAN BISHOP

March 3, 2007 -- WASHINGTON - Rudy Giuliani's liberal stance on abortion, guns and gays wasn't his biggest problem yesterday as he addressed a conference of conservative activists - it was his having dressed in drag.

A whisper campaign targeting the front-running GOP White House contender's cross-dressing stunts at gala political dinners in New York and on "Saturday Night Live" was the hot topic among right-leaning activists.

Definitely not Uncle Miltie. He couldn't have worn a mini skirt.

He is not a cross-dresser, he had some fun at 2 fund-raisers. So what? Some here carry intolerance to an extreme.

Dressing in drag as the court jester may be chic. But what leadership message does one get from the king dressed in drag? I suspect one that pulls out all stops on the hedonists. Just what we need, extreme perversity as diversity.

Rudy is one of the least likely persons to be a cross dresser or a metrosexual that I can think of

I agree. It was more than at 2 fundraisers. Rudy often did that for laughs and to play pranks on friends (especially famous ones). The fact that he's the least likely to be a metrosexual is what makes it so funny. The irony.

Oh well, Rudy's not my favorite candidate but I think conservatives are being unfair with the crossdressing. If you have a problem with his stances on certain issues, then you may have a point.

Pro-gun control? Pro homosexual agenda? Pro abortion on demand. Endorsed Mario Cuomo? Etc., etc.

He doesn't pass my test, nor that of many other GOP primary voters.

I agree. I've always thought mentioning Ruddy as the GOP candidate was a total pipe dream. Slow news cycle, I thought, it could never happen. Maybe the media throwing it on the wall to see if it would stick.

Never include me with your us.

I will only call for a lynching of child molesters unlike you who are aiding and abedding.

The Clintons are affiliated with the same child molesters that Giuliani supports. I will stand by Duncan Hunter regardless of what any pole you whip out. I will win or lose without compromising my morals.

I wouldn't care if the entire field of candidates showed up in dresses at an event. It's for fun, laughing at themselves, doing something light-hearted. If they debated in them I might have second thoughts!

Oh well, since it's before the primary I suppose it's not unhealthy to have the debate. I would pick Rudy anyday over Mcain.

I just hope all can unite behind the candidate after the primary.

You know, I'm not Rudy supporter, but the level of discourse (on both the 'pro-' AND 'anti-' sides) could really use some work.

Amen to that! But I seriously doubt that we'll see it anytime soon.

I'm not going to get on here and render a judgement about Mr. Giuliani one way or another, but let's not pretend there aren't some serious warning signs here, folks . . .

When it went from a joke to looking better than my mom and my mom's a pretty good looking lady

Thanks :) You gave me confidence about my sexuality. I never found Rudy or another man dressed as a female to be attractive.

He marched in the "Gay Pride" parades in which NAMBLA was also marching. I doubt he literally marched alongside their banner. If he did and there's a photo he might as well drop out now, but I'm sure he's not that stupid.

He is, however, lacking in enough moral conviction to refuse to march in a parade that embraces pedophiles.

The fact that he's the least likely to be a metrosexual is what makes it so funny.

Really?!

On what do you base this observation?

Again, I want proof he marched along side NAMBLA. Not that he was at a gay pride parade.

So I'm guessing the Free Republic production of "Charley's Aunt" is pretty much out of the question.
