Idiotic. Disgusting. Stupid. Moronic.
I guess you could say that Ann loves to shock us, but at this point, whos shocked? She obviously cant behave well enough to attend a respectable political gathering. Its not a lack of intelligence. Its an indifference to self-control and a preening sort of narcissism that compels her to need the spotlight, even if its unflattering.
(For those of you who dont know what Im talking about, heres audio of her calling John Edwards a faggot at CPAC today.)

Michelle Malkin -
***4:15pm update***
Ann Coulter just finished her riff on Al Gore, tossed out some cute jokes ("You can understand why Hollywood is concerned about global warming. You know what heat does to plastic."), and ended with a cheap one-liner about John Edwards being a "faggot." (Paraphrasing) She said she would refrain from commenting on Edwards because "if you say faggot, you have to go to rehab."
A smattering of laughter.
Not from this corner.
Crickets chirping.

Ann Coulter is speaking at CPAC as I write. As is typical, she gave a brief speech full of her usual witticisms, including a few brilliant attacks on Al Gores green hypocrisy. All was good. Untill the last few seconds, when she launched into a joke about John Edwards.
Heres what she said.
Id say something about John Edwards, but if you say faggot you have to go to rehab.
Im no fan of John Edwards, but thats just a stupid joke. Its over the line. The laughter it generated across the room was more than a little annoying.
Last year it was raghead. This year its calling John Edwards a faggot. Two years in a row, Coulter has finished up an otherwise sharp CPAC routine with an obnoxious slur that liberals will fling at conservatives for years to come.
Thanks, Ann.

My comments... what should have been a day to celebrate a Reaganesque speech by Duncan Hunter, and good speeches by Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee was overshadowed by an unhinged comment by Ann Coulter. She is an absolute idiot for saying something like this at CPAC.
BTW, got those from 'pookie18' who does the Toons thread each morning.
OK
"Many more. I'm not embarrassed by anything I've posted here at FR."
Well, that's the problem.
You're stupid and smug about it.
In a cultural sense, absolutely. I suspect that most clueless posters here are generally kind and decent when dealing with family and friends. So far so good.
When transferring "feel good" sentiments to the political arena, let's not confuse political words with dictionary words. Conservatism means something entirely different in politics.
And sadly, in the real world, kindness and common decency in politics will relegate you to a footnote in history, if you're lucky, and to the dustbin --- if you're not.
"BTW, got those from 'pookie18' who does the Toons thread each morning."
Can't even take responsibility for your gay-bashing.
You are a coward as well as a hypocrite.
Great catch!
From 'Red State' -
The Shunning of Ann Coulter
Excerpt -
"When I blogged on the PandaGate scandal, I swore to myself that I would never support or defend anyone who uses the same kind of hateful rhetoric that Amanda Marcotte uses. I didn't realize that this would mean having to denounce a conservative celebrity just days after joining the Republican Party and declaring myself a conservative. Be that as it may, that's exactly what I'm doing: I'm denouncing her. And I'm saying that all other conservatives should do the same thing."

Okay, watched the video. Ann seemed to get more applause (slightly shocked applause, but so what?) and laughter (including some nervous laughter, but so what?) than her politically correct detractors would have us believe. It wasn't bad at all.
Funny how some jokes fall flat only AFTER the fact, when certain pundits scratch their behinds and get the clever idea that they can make themselves look better by pretending to take "the high road" - - in other words, they run like scared bunnies from the "mainstream" socialist newsrooms.
Well, dangit, Ann! You went and used the little-F-word! NOW ALL THE PUNDITS ARE SCRAMBLING TO SEND YOU TO REHAB, JUST LIKE YOU SAID!
ROTFLMAO!
I reckon all the small-'c' Conservatives in binary world forgot the first amendment again...
Did anyone really expect to see anything about (anyone but the MSM annointed "frontrunners" or) CPAC on the LSM before C-SPAN at 3AM, anyway?
They planted Anna Nicloe today, and they are already lining up the next newssoap...
Ann Coulter does not speak for me. She is the very thing she accuses liberals of being, a person who throws ad hominem attacks out when has no facts to back up her argument.
She is a Barbara Olsen wanna (an attractive, cerebral conservative gal), but lacks all the good traits Barbara had, like grace and charm and class. Anyone else notice Ann did not become a top tier "conservative talking head" until after Barbara died and someone was needed to fill her spot on the talk shows?
Unfortunately, I learned along time ago that there is a small cult of Ann worshipers who believe she is a goddess and will defend anything and everything she says. If Ann said something completely unhinged tomorrow, like "Bush should be impeached for Treason", I have no doubt the Ann worshipers would find a way to defend it (well, she's probably referring to his disregard for border sovereignty, so she has a point that his actions on defending the nation are treasonous..."). Ann and her followers are simply the conservative equivalent of Michael Moore's followers on the left, they're a personality cult that does not care what their hero says or does about people as long as they get their "cause" across to the public. The end justifies the means.
But don't try arguing with the Cult of Ann. They believe she walks on water and will accuse you of being from DU if you question anything she says or does.
"faggot?"
But....but...It is only "hate-speech" if he IS!
That's not at all what I am saying. I 99.9% agree with her, but her opinions are only representative of her. She is not an official of the GOP or necessarily the conservative movement. I don't need to apologize for her, nor does she need me to.
Tell me, what's it like to sit so high on that lofty perch of yours?
See my post #814
You Don't Speak for Me, Ann
Ann Coulter Does It Again. And, I hate to link to John Edwards' site. But, he's got the video up. Probably the one time we EVER agree on anything. But, I agree here: Shame on Ann.
I commend Michelle Malkin for calling it like it is. Why is Michelle the only conservative condemning Ann's comments?
Coulter also made that President Bush should be impeached for treason comment on the Mike Rosen show here in Denver (850am KOA) about 1 1/2 years ago when promoting her previous book. Mike Rosen apologized on the air after the guest segment was over.
"In six years I've never met anybody so incredibly obsessed with my screen name.
Does it offend you?"
No, but your hypocrisy sickens me.
As I noted previously, your first post on this ill-begotten thread was your pronouncement:
"It's important that Republicans and conservatives send a message that we are not a party of hate."
From a guy who signs every post here as "F*ck You Dems."
You are either a troll or a shameless hypocrite. Or both.
And you are light-bendingly thick.
