Idiotic. Disgusting. Stupid. Moronic.
I guess you could say that Ann loves to shock us, but at this point, whos shocked? She obviously cant behave well enough to attend a respectable political gathering. Its not a lack of intelligence. Its an indifference to self-control and a preening sort of narcissism that compels her to need the spotlight, even if its unflattering.
(For those of you who dont know what Im talking about, heres audio of her calling John Edwards a faggot at CPAC today.)

Michelle Malkin -
***4:15pm update***
Ann Coulter just finished her riff on Al Gore, tossed out some cute jokes ("You can understand why Hollywood is concerned about global warming. You know what heat does to plastic."), and ended with a cheap one-liner about John Edwards being a "faggot." (Paraphrasing) She said she would refrain from commenting on Edwards because "if you say faggot, you have to go to rehab."
A smattering of laughter.
Not from this corner.
Crickets chirping.

Bryan Preston of 'Hot Air' -
Ann Coulter is speaking at CPAC as I write. As is typical, she gave a brief speech full of her usual witticisms, including a few brilliant attacks on Al Gores green hypocrisy. All was good. Untill the last few seconds, when she launched into a joke about John Edwards.
Heres what she said.
Id say something about John Edwards, but if you say faggot you have to go to rehab.
Im no fan of John Edwards, but thats just a stupid joke. Its over the line. The laughter it generated across the room was more than a little annoying.
Last year it was raghead. This year its calling John Edwards a faggot. Two years in a row, Coulter has finished up an otherwise sharp CPAC routine with an obnoxious slur that liberals will fling at conservatives for years to come.
Thanks, Ann.

My comments... what should have been a day to celebrate a Reaganesque speech by Duncan Hunter, and good speeches by Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee was overshadowed by an unhinged comment by Ann Coulter. She is an absolute idiot for saying something like this at CPAC.
1. God is the Supreme Being and Creator of the Universe. He though so much of us humans that He sent His only begotton Son to offer us redemption in spite of our sins. He gave us the conditions of that redemption in a book (many pages within covers) called the Bible.
2. Among God's rules are His prohibition of any man lying with any other man as with a woman. For those miseducated at PS 666, this means that God says: No homosexual activity! Sodomy is homosexuality. Sodomy is not a practice of moral people.
3. Effusive thanks or other embarassing public displays of emotion for the foregoing free education are not necessary. All you need do is recognize an obligation to protect babies, marriages, guns, practicing members of our military whose lives are on the line, and modest incomes (from taxation) by your vote and your voice now that you have a clue and then some.
No she couldn't, that would not have encompassed his views on hate crimes laws or his views on re-eduacation camps. ie: rehab for non-PC words.
"I agree with Hugh Hewitt 100%."
Yeah, HH is always right.
It's great the way the GOP carried the nation on Nov. 7th.
Coulter's humor is an intelligence test.
Hewitt (unsurprisingly) failed it.
The same can be said about the other worthies who are trashing her because they don't have the intelligence to spot a joke.
Meanwhile, George Soros and Howard Dean are laughing.
Very sadly. And reading posts here - some do not even value it. I can't see them as true conservatives when they want to be known as haters and they want to be seen as mean spirited.
That is not about conservatism - that is just a lack of character, imo.
You do know that a guy was actually sent to rehab for uttering the word "faggot". Ann was able to make a silky pony type joke about Edwards while also referencing the ridiculous rehab situation.
Ann, once again, has people freaking out over the stupid word, just as they freaked out originally, and sent that guy to rehab. This isn't a lack of character, it is much closer to Rush Limbaugh offering to buy his mother a new can opener for her dog food. It is absurd.
If Ann had stood at CPAC and recited The Cat and The Hat, journalists would simply find something else that someone said that they could twist into hate speech. If it didn't exist, they would make it up, or take something totally out of context.
Journalists will do anything to NOT have to report that speakers did well, the crowd was excited, etc. They will do anything to not have to report straightforwardly on what we think and believe.
I'm sure they thank you and the bloggers for your support.
She certainly lacks character, much like a cardboard cut out.
"And would you also argue that self-respecting black should see the *N* word as a badge of honor?"
Not a valid comparison in the first place.
Secondly, I don't use either word as a part of my normal vocabulary. But judging from the content on MTV it MUST be a good word.
Coulter was right for saying it.
I'd be proud to stand next to her in line for rehab.
Sadly, it appears Hewitt will be shuffling paperwork and handing out numbers.
Glad some here, and you said it best, get it!
"She certainly lacks character, much like a cardboard cut out."
I'll assume that's sarcasm.
There must've been a lot of them at CPAC.
You still do not understand. Her lame assinine comment was made at a yearly national gathering of conservatives and on the same day where all the 2008 GOP Presidential candidates were speaking (except McCain). Does that register in your mind???
Do you think that mean-spiriteness is a conservative value? Do you like the idea of conservatives being known as haters?
And btw, where have I supported Rudy Giuliani being mean?
And you would be correct. Unfortunately, we've got a few of our own--specifically in the Senate. Maybe not completely Nancy, but neutered anyway.
Assume what you want. She has no character.
Finally!!! ............. FRegards
Discernment is not all that difficult.
Do you hate abortion?
Do you hate socialism?
Do you hate homosexuality?
Do you hate lies and deception?
Do you hate lists with more than five questions?
I'm suprised that you don't find your own handle offensive.
The media should spend more time denouncing liberals wishing for Dick Cheney's death.
