I have been flat on my back sick for a week. This is just stunning, isn't it?
But, when you trumpet against gay-rights and privacy rights you run the risk of being categorized on the far right lunatic fringe of the political spectrum. And, believe me, there are plenty of agitators just waiting to assail your assault on other's rights as nothing more than Westboro Lite. It will make your previous support of Pat Buchanan and Alan Keyes look like reasoned dialog when they start going for the SPLC quotations.
I am giving you this warning to prevent HRC from getting her material from the far right to attack whatever carcass the Republicans manage to let live...
You are simply being irresponsible when you throw the baby out with the bathwater, for a meaningless slogan.
His words and deeds betray him. I simply do not believe him. He has demonstrated that he has zero respect for the constitution. His belief in liberal positions on life and liberty issues are identical to Hillary's.
In that essay, Alan Keyes speaks to the truth.
The problem we're having this election cycle on FR, is the debate so far is focused on liberal pop culture politics and not on conservative politics, where it belongs.
RINOs, liberals and Rudybots --- what we called 30 years ago, the Rockefeller Republicans --- are bound and determined to see Rudy Giuliani as the GOP nominee. They've waited 30 years for this opportunity and they will make the most of it. After the 2006 election outcome and the failure of the GOP to get the job done, some people just want a winner. Even some conservatives have jumped on the bandwagon, forsaking their principles and integrity. Not to mention throwing away their commonsense.
I always knew liberals to be the enemy of conservatism. Around FR, supporting Rudy Giuliani is a form of political treason. Like it or not, its a betrayal of conservatism.
You took the chrome right off the bumper with that one!

The Republican party is a "BIG TENT". It is NOT a 100% pure CONSERVATIVE PARTY and never has been; not even under the titular stewardship of Ronald Reagan.
It was Ronald Reagan who spoke about the place of compromise, in American politics. Those of us who talk about it, are the ones following Reagan's dictates and position.
No, that is your interpretation of what you think I am saying, and you are wrong.
We're all conservatives here. We support our country, support our president, support our military, support our constitution and support our traditional American values.
..pray you feel better soon...
EWWWWWWWWWW.
Problemis, Rudy is about 75 percent liberal and only about 25 percent conservative. Like Joe Lieberman.
The tent can't be stretched that far without ripping.
Agreed.
You romantic devil you. Two hearts beating as one.
My sweet Walter. Thank you. I feel better today than I have in a week.
DreamsofPolyCarp, Post #290:
I am not even registered Republican anymore. Here in NC, there is no registration for "libertarian" so I am independent. That said, I am fervently pro-life. THAT said, I am for the sovereignty of the states in deciding the issue, the way it was before ROE (legal issues which touch on personal morality, including porn, homosexuality, etc, are best decided locally). I believe in EVERY SINGLE PLANK of the Christian Right, I just don't believe in the usurpation of Federal power to do so. I believe that judges should have a "litmus test" regarding their views on federalism, not abortion. The Christian Right, which I grew up with, has whored itself out to the pursuit of political power on the federal level. It should repent and get back to the job of espousing the happy state of being cleansed by the grace of Jesus, and the personal responsibilities to repudiate the false god of more and more trinkets and toys, while hoping that they can get some guy in power who will stave off cultural collapse. This is worshiping a false god, or what the old faithful called "idolatry."

How old are you -- 16?
What a dumb thing to say!
Bill Simon is a liberal? I didn't know that!

It's a tent that is going to be flat on the ground, because these folks kicked all the center poles out..
I object to his politics, and to his morals. His morals are deplorable, and I don't think he would make a good role model for kids. They've already got all the sleaze they need out of Hollywood. I don't respect him, and I don't trust him.
The office of the President needs to be filled by a man of impeccable character. Rudy's character is stained by his own actions!
THAT does not equate to "HATE."
