JERUSALEM - Archaeologists and clergymen in the Holy Land derided claims in a new documentary produced by the Oscar-winning director James Cameron that contradict major Christian tenets. "The Lost Tomb of Christ," which the Discovery Channel will run on March 4, argues that 10 ancient ossuaries — small caskets used to store bones — discovered in a suburb of Jerusalem in 1980 may have contained the bones of Jesus and his family, according to a press release issued by the Discovery Channel.

You missed my point, like I thought you would. I am writing from the perspective of someone NOT posting but, instead, reading the posts. As a reader, if someone had not posted this particular article at this particular spot in Free Republic, I would have missed it.

I would have missed it because I would not have known to search for this particular topic, because I did not know this particular topic existed. Get it?

So therefore, I am thankful there are multiple posts on some issues because I do not look at every specific post. Understand now?

The post police are so concerned with pointing out multiple posts, that you people have such a hard time looking at it from the reader perspective and not the poster perspective.

What happened to the old line: "And on the third day He..."

Where's All Bore taking credit for this discovery?

Some dude on Nightline said there were like 71 cases of finding tombs with Jesus, Mary and Joseph as occupants. The names were that common. DUH.
Hollyweird is trying there best to sell this one of 71. Where did they get God's DNA to compare? They must think we're stoooooooopid.

I'm not a Christian, However, a major component of all Christian belief is the Resurrection of Christ-ergo, no body. I'm surprised that believers are not fighting this "discovery" as herasy.

The nature of true Christianity is to "turn the other cheek." As with all religions, there are Christian extremists who do not practice that. However, mainstream Christians live according to the principles of Jesus who was silent before His accusers "...like a sheep led to slaughter." Truth has nothing to fear from examination. If you know what you believe and you are living it every day, these kinds of fluff attacks that are here today and gone tomorrow are really no big deal.

Exactly! Jesus has no earthly remains, therefore they couldn't be found. Mary was assumed into heaven so they couldn't have found her either.
