For the most part. There are some libertarians as well. It's like any group of people: they span across the spectrum. In my own case, I'm probably more conservative than most Republicans.

I agree that it's important, but would perhaps differ on the level of importance I place upon that. Our political system is not in that horrible of shape. I take a look at some really horrible governments like those in Zimbabwe or Venezuela and wonder why we beat our breasts so. Our system works. Perhaps not as efficiently as we would like, and at too high a price tag, but it does work.
In my view, being conservative (socially/morally/politically) is in large part it's own reward. One of the real weaknesses of conservatism in my view is that it tends toward being dour. Why? Conservatism is a good lifestyle.
I think Congressman Salazar is a good example of a decent democrat.
The hollywood gang certainly could use some Conservatism. Dour is a very appropriate adjective. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
