"I doubt that there is anything "theological" about Mary being taken away, bones and all, to heaven."
Whether there is or not, my Bible tells me not to be a "stumbling block" to other Christians. Since I don't believe it matters to our salvation one way or the other whether one believes Mary's body ascended to Heaven, it's no big deal to me. Who am I to judge another's servant? My best friend is a 7th Day Adventist. While 7th dayers are strictly biblical in their faith they believe in keeping the Old Testament dietary habits and the Saturday Sabbath. Although I believe Jesus' new covenant releases us from this part of the law, I don't argue with him over it. In fact, when we are together I try not to eat pork or shellfish so as not to be a stumbling block to him. He is devout child of Christ and it would be a sin for me to do anything which could interfere with that.

(Romans 14, eh?)
Cheers!

I totally agree. Sometimes I wonder if God gets a kick out of our bickering and our human boundaries we place on our faith. It will be a shock to us all when we get to heaven and find out it didn't matter if we wore make-up or danced or played cards or ate pork or worshipped on Saturday vs. Sunday. If we all put more empahsis on just sharing the love of Jesus instead of trying to prove our way is right the world would be so much better. I think that God didn't intend for loving him and following him to be as hard as we make it out to be.
