With all due respect, that's a two-way street.
I agree.
The woman needs to be beat. She ought to scare the crap out of everyone here. Do you like the idea of 3 more Ginsburgs on the court? That will help us a lot........just like getting beat in 06 helped us......
>>>>>1. Rudy Giuliani is really a conservative. Freepers who use this argument will often cite examples -- sometimes accurate, sometimes exaggerated, but occasionally even downright false .... The biggest flaw in this approach is that his track record is only conservative if you focus entirely on these specific issues and ignore the rest of them.
This references the obligatory list of accomplishments while Rudy was Mayor of NYCity. Accomplishments by NYCity standards maybe, not by conservative standards, however. Acting with some fiscal restraint doesn't make Rudy a fiscal conservative. Since we know that Rudy is a social liberal, by any honest standard of measure, we know that he isn't interested in those issues important to most conservatives. And this starts with his support for big government, more gun control, abortion on demand, amnesty and gay rights.
Sorry Rudy, I'll pass on your liberalism.
Then it is on the GOP to run a candidate who can do that very thing. And Rudy is not the one who can get that done.
And how long have you had these attacks of grandeur?
To answer your question, I am a conservative first and it will be a cold day in hell when I vote for rudy.
What part of the article is not true? Does truth only apply to publications that you personally approve?
Well reasoned, well argued, and well written. My hat's off to you.
All the koolaid drinkers aid and abet the Dems in selling out this country.
Lastly, does anyone have a link to Guliani on H&C?
For the life of me I cannot figure out what the appeal is that I have to see them on every Rudy thread ad nauseum. It takes a complete moron not to see that those pictures came from fund raisers. And it takes a complete moron to believe that the electorate will not know that but hold it against him.
To call him a cross dresser is the height of absurdity. And to say he is effete - asinine.
I wonder if this is best debate can come up with. A picure of Rudy in a dress raising money for a cause. Wow! No wonder the threads of Obama are filled with comments about his middle name or Hilliary's threads are filled with juvenile comments about her looks. I fear for the White House in 2008.
As a disclaimer: I support Duncan Hunter. My first choice is Dick Cheney but he is not running. I would have no problem voting for Rudy if he is the nominee, but in the primary, he is not getting my vote.
#1 - The Pro-Life Issue - this will be (and is currently being) re-directed to the issue of judicial nominations. It appears Rudy already has many prominent SoCons in his corner that support his views toward constitutional interpretation.
#2 - Illegal Immigration - sweeping amnesty will be passed by this summer, making II a moot point for the 2008 presidential election.
#3 - Gun Control - may be his biggest obstacle for single-issue voters as #1 & #2 above are neutralized.
Arnie has demonstrated how a moderate Republican needs to position himself if he wants to win in states like Calif, NY, PA, etc. With a strong stance on the WoT, when push comes to shove, southerners will vote for Rudy simply because they will not be able to bear the alternative.
This is the type of quick 'back-of'the-envelope' analysis the media & money-men have made regarding Rudy's prospects. Unless something radically changes in the interim, it's hard not to see how he is going to be the 2008 GOP candidate and take the election.
I wouldn't trust any candidate. They will tell you whatever you want to hear. Look at their track record coming in to the election.

Defending Bernie Kerik or Giuliani Partners is an interesting concept. I'm sure you would prefer that all this go away, but it won't.
Agreed. Those who get all worked up about those pictures have such a skewed sense of humor and proportion or both, the rest of their perspective is called into question.
I would say they have no sense of humor. :)
Pretty much it's all they've got.
Too bad for them Rudy's past doesn't support his current views toward Constitutional interpretation.
#2 - Illegal Immigration - sweeping amnesty will be passed by this summer, making II a moot point for the 2008 presidential election.
Amnesty will only make matters worse, especially when the progressive governor of California that Rudy admires, one Ahhold Scharzenegger, gets illegals health insurance. The next president WILL have to deal with the issue his first term, and it WILL be much worse them. And Rudy is NOT the guy for that job, given his history with sanctuary and support for amnesty.
#3 - Gun Control - may be his biggest obstacle for single-issue voters as #1 & #2 above are neutralized.
Once again, RUDY CRITICS ARE NOT SINGLE-ISSUE VOTERS. To the contrary, our main difficult is keeping track of all the issues with Rudy. The only single-issue folks I see are Rudy boosters who say the WOT is the only issue that matters.
I also will be voting for Duncan Hunter in the primaries. I'm not sure who I will vote for, for president but with all respect to him, it won't be Rudy.
