Thomas Jefferson's Koran [Regarding Keith Ellison - the Muslim Congressman's - Swearing in]
Koinonia House's Personal Update & Online ^ | February 2007 | William Welty, Ph.D.

Keith Ellison is a Muslim. He was sworn in last month to serve in the House of Representatives as a United States Congressman after being elected last November from the 5th district of Minnesota.

He demanded use of—and received permission from the Library of Congress to use—Thomas Jefferson’s own personal copy of the Koran on which to swear his oath of allegiance to the Constitution at the inauguration ceremony.

Ellison, who was born in Detroit and converted to Islam while in college, said he chose to use Jefferson’s Koran because it showed that “a visionary like Jefferson” believed that wisdom could be gleaned from many sources.

The Library of Congress loaned out Jefferson’s rare copy of the first English language translation of the Koran ever made directly from the Arabic text. It was published in London as a two-volume set in 1764 (see photo, below). Certain individuals complained about Ellison’s choice and quite a stink was raised over the whole incident. Did anybody besides me happen to ask why it was that Jefferson felt the need to own and read a copy of the Koran?

The reason for stating Islam is a "religion of peace" is our dependence on, and source of, foreign oil. If the American public was educated regarding this American History, and cared, we would have dissmissed the claim with prejudice.

Who is responsible for educating America? Hmmm... public schools, colleges, universities, ... and the MSM should be 'reminding' us ... however they're all 'owned' by the left.

For me it renders into a couple of statements regarding the left's principles:

> "The agenda (socialism/communism/power) is more important than the truth and what is best for our country" and

> "The end (the agenda) justifies the means"

People of America and the Western Hemisphere,

Read this one more time - read it carefully and very slowly so that you fully comprehend.

The Quran is not just a religious book, it is the CONSTITUTION OF SAUDI ARABIA.

==================================================

Submission of the Infidels linkage here

"Disrespect for the Holy Koran is not now, nor has it ever been, nor will it ever be, tolerated by the United States" ~ Condoleezza Rice

Fearing the rattle of the sabre of militant Islam and the "deep indignation" of the Saudi Arabian government. These shameful and spineless words were spoken like a true dhimmi in a futile attempt to sooth and appease the supposed indignity of our adversaries. They will have no such effect, they will only act to embolden our adversaries and those seeking the internal destruction of our nation.

While our nation continues down the destructive path of assiduous secularization and the relentless unabated demonization of Christianity, these words will be interpreted and seen by the Muslim world as our nation's acquiescence to the superiority of Islam. That our government would place Islam in such high regard and elevate it upon of pedestal of reverence while we give government grants to individuals so that they may desecrate the Christian faith only strenghens the hand of militant Islam.

How will our nation's government choose to address the indignity suffered by millions of Christians throughout the Muslim world? Christians who have been persecuted and had their bibles shredded in Saudi Arabia. How will our nation's government address the "deep indignation" of millions of Americans who see the government of Saudi Arabia's arrogant demands that disciplinary action be taken in this alleged event as nothing more than a foreign power meddling in the internal affairs of our nation?

The Quran is not simply seen as the holy book of Islam by Saudi Arabia and the Muslim world, it is the Constitution of the country of Saudi Arabia. A Constitution that does not provide legal protection for freedom of religion. Our continuous failure to see Islam for what it truly is, a "way of life", a political ideology that is enshrined and cloaked in nothing more than a facade of religion will only lead to our own peril in the years ahead.

Saudi Arabia's ire was not raised so much by what they saw as blasphemous to their religious beliefs, but also as something blasphemous and disrepectful to their "way of life" and to their own country's Constitution. Condoleeza Rice's remarks not only lend credence to the Islamic faith, but act to legitimize the Constitution of Saudi Arabia.

Had Adolph Hitler declared himself a prophet or a living deity and Mein Kampf the holy book of the religion of Nazism would we find ourselves equally helpless to confront the inherent evil of the political ideology encompassed by it?

Have we become so desirous of somehow breaching the cultural chasm that divides the Muslim world and the Western world that we would sacrifice our own convictions and ardent beliefs on the altar of political correctness? Or have we as a nation become so drunk on our amoral concepts of diversity and multiculturism that we have become oblivious to the inherent antagonism of Freedom and Islam?

Will read later bump. As far as I'm concerned Ellis remains unsworn and his votes null and void until he swears in on the Bible. For that matter he should draw no salary because he cannot do his job. Wisdom from many sources my a55. The Bible is the source of Common Law, English Law, Moral law, American Law, .... sad, America is dissolving.

Wouldn't it be nice if the majority of Americans followed Jefferson's example and actually sat down and read about things that are critical to our future instead of buying into the crap on TV? T.J. kicked the crap out of the gooners on principle and started a legacy that remains today. I am sure if he were alive today would stuff the likes of Teddy K. and the rest of the traitors in Congress into a ship and send them over there to have a Muslim sandwich and a drink!

The very purpose of TV is to keep Americans in a semi-conscious state. It was supposed to let the leftists do their work unimpeded. As we are finding, there are many unforseen costs to having a population that doesn't pay attention to whats going on.

This is a must read. Very informative to know that the Barbary Pirates were so driven by Koranic principles. Radical Muslims need their asses kicked but hard- it's the only thing they understand. Too bad our suicidal culture lacks the political courage to take on the enemy head on.

The reason Jefferson had and read the Koran was stated very well in the "Hill Chronicle Blog" and states:
"As the third president of the United States, Jefferson had no CIA to feed intelligence data to him and to his national security advisor. As a matter of fact, Jefferson had no national security officer. Times then were quite different of course.

Jefferson needed that copy of the Koran because he was desperate to learn something about Islam from that religion’s written de facto standard of all things Muslim. And you ask why? Because the United States was going to war in the early 1800s against conservative, Wahhabi-type, radical Muslims. Something obviously Rep. Ellison did not know or conveniently chose to ignore.

During the early years of the United States when our foundation was being laid, our forefathers fought an international group of terrorists who, like today’s conservative, Wahhabi-type, radical Muslims, made no distinction between geopolitical nation states. They were called the Barbary Pirates. They were from the Barbary Coast of North Africa. Allusion to the affair can be found in the words “…to the shores of Tripoli” mentioned in the Marine Corps Hymn.

Jefferson also deduced that the best way to learn about the political, military, social, economic, and religious agendas of America’s enemies was to read the best textbook on all things Muslim. So he read the Koran in what for his day was a state-of-the-art translation into English directly from the Arabic. Jefferson’s copy of the Koran equipped him with everything he needed to know on how to respond to threats from the caliphates of the early 1800s.

In response to a declaration of war on the United States of America by the Barbary Coast caliphates, Thomas Jefferson sent the USS Constitution to the Mediterranean in 1803. The fighting during those days saw so many acts of heroism that established the U.S. Navy as a force to be reckoned with.

In 1805, the Constitution supported the landing of Marines “on the shores of Tripoli” in an action that later was immortalized in the Marine Corps Hymn. The Americans and their allies destroyed the harbor citadel at Derna that served as the headquarters for the pirates.

The first blue-water ocean-going war machine of the new United States Navy turned the Tripoli harbor from state-of-the-art fortifications (state-of-the-art for 18th century Muslims, that is) back to 7th century piles of rubble. The United States Navy literally freed the Mediterranean and the world from domination by militant Islam for nearly 200 years.

The crew of the USS Constitution beat the tar out of those international terrorists. That led to a peace treaty that lasted for almost two hundred years until September 11th, 2001, when conservative, Wahhabi-type, radical Islam killed nearly 3,000 Americans.

Jefferson’s resolve to fight had its beginings in his reading the Koran as the best source of the time that was all things Muslim. Jefferson knew that 18th century Americans were in danger from what we call today conservative, Wahhabi-type, radical Islam.

Least we forget, our forefathers knew the enemy.

from John Quincy Adams - just as applicable today as it was in 1829.

“Adopting from the sublime conception of the Mosaic law, the doctrine of one omnipotent God; he [Mohammed] connected indissolubly with it, the audacious falsehood, that he was himself his prophet and apostle. Adopting from the new Revelation of Jesus, the faith and hope of immortal life, and of future retribution, he humbled it to the dust by adapting all the rewards and sanctions of his religion to the gratification of the sexual passion. He poisoned the sources of human felicity at the fountain, by degrading the condition of the female sex, and the allowance of polygamy; and he declared undistinguishing and exterminating war, as a part of his religion, against all the rest of mankind. THE ESSENCE OF HIS DOCTRINE WAS VIOLENCE AND LUST; TO EXALT THE BRUTAL OVER THE SPIRITUAL PART OF HUMAN NATURE ...While the merciless and dissolute dogmas of the false prophet shall furnish motives to human action, there can never be peace upon earth, and good will towards men.”

“As the essential principle of his [Mohammed's] faith is the subjugation of others by the sword; it is only by force, that his false doctrines can be dispelled, and his power annihilated.”
