I don't know about you, but I doubt the Christian conservatives throughout the red state farm belt and especially down in the South are going to cotton to a liberal New York Yankee coming down to try to clean up crime by taking their guns and bringing abortion and gay unions (gay marriage) into their families, schools and churches.
So you think the man is a liar.

A GREAT conservative like Reagan had a hard time getting the judges right. I don't are what Rudy says. You trust a leftist who is ardently pro-choice to get it right?
I guess I shouldn't look at his past actions as an indicator of future performance.

The platform I want our candidate to run on is this:
We'll be offering the voters a clear choice between a corrupt, treasonous, socialist butcher (Hillary) standing for gloom & doom, darkness and death vs a no nonsense America loving conservative patriot!!
Heck, he belittled conservative criticism of Clinton's lack of serious anti-terror action before Bush took office. That's NO WAY to make sure such mistakes aren't repeated again.

The took on the Squeegee Men, risking life and limb he chased them all the way to Newark, NJ.
There are many who post here who weren't in the area and who have no idea what his conservative accomplishments were. Some pathetically misrepresent Rudy's record. They don't understand the loyalty by some of us locals who saw day-after-day what Rudy did.
All that said, Rudy dropped his personal convictions about abortion and drank the baby extermination kool-aide first with a quick statement in October of 1989 and then in 1993 when he ran and won his first term.
So what does Rudy say now? Rudy went on Hannity. He said some positive things about Alito, Scalia and Roberts, and he talked about being a strict constructionist and he even said that he opposed abortion. But then he said that there was a "right" to an abortion.
Look, many of the so-called conservative politicians across the country could learn from what Rudy did for the city. But besides that on a national scale, seeking a national nomination to a party that contains the conservatives of this country, Rudy is an abortionist square peg in a round hole. It ain't going to happen with Rudy.
We'll have to beat Clinton some other way.

Plenty. Enough to turn elections in California. Just ask Ed Zschau, who lost to Alan Cranston in the election for US Sentator from California because enough single-issue abortion voters stayed home.

I pointed out that he'd broken two of the most solemn promises he's made in his life. I wasn't commenting on his marital wierdness. I was pointing out 2 significant promises that he'd broken in the face of your statement that you "see nothing in Rudy's past" to cause one to believe that he might lie.
I agree with your platform. However, I worry about the effect that the anti-Iraq war sentiment might have on the election. It's the single most important reason why Bush's approval ratings have dropped, because of his courageous insistence upon doing the right thing.
A presidential nominee needs so much more than just a good platform. He needs charisma, eloquence, smarts. How would Romney be? He's pro-life.

Hunter married the former Lynne Layh in 1973. Hunter's son, Duncan Duane Hunter (born 1977), a First Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps, was deployed to Iraq in 2003. Hunter has another son, Samuel. His family attends First Baptist Church of Alpine, which is affiliated with the San Diego Southern Baptist Association. Hunter's Alpine, California home burned down during the October 2003 Cedar Fire. The loss topped $500,000, but insurance covered most of it.[2] Congressman Hunter was critical of then governor Gray Davis's response to the fire. [3]
I'm not going to compare Americans to Hitler. Certainly not a majority.
The entire party platform? You're really not very objective are you.
8 years of spending cuts less than the rate of inflation was Rudy's record. Alex Baldwin would never do that. Hell, our Republican majority never came close to that with the federal budget.
But you don't think that's worth talking about. Why do you have to misrepresent and trash conservative accomplishment? Why not just stick to the facts Rudy is poor on?

But you are absolutely right about your free will. You, and only you, control your own vote. So stop blaming others when you place your de facto vote for hillary. YOU decided to vote for her. No one else pulled that lever. YOU did.
And step up and take responsibility for the deaths that flow from your choice. Help elect hillary clinton and babies will die, people will die, the Constitution will die, our democracy will die. And you and those who helped elect her will be responsible.

So how, then can he make up for that by pulling in anti-war Dems and independents as a pro-war candidate?
