With the bare fact being that no Republican in recent memory has been able to win a major contest without at least the tacit backing of the religious right, Rudy Guliani might be trying to buck that trend.

Well .. you're wasting your breath on me .. I'm not supporting Rudy .. or anybody at the moment!
And .. by the way .. who are YOU supporting that you believe is so much better than Rudy .. or any other candidate.
All I hear people saying is AGAINST, AGAINST, AGAINST .. nobody's FOR a candidate .. and you know what .. that tactic is what the democrats have been doing for over 6 years .. AGAINST, AGAINST, AGAINST .. makes me kind of wonder just who you people really are supporting.

I haven't come out in support of one candidate or another.
I think that our next candidate needs to be a strong leader in his own right and part of being a leader is getting people to follow you. He gets why we are fighting the war on terror and articulates it well. Just like Reagan articulated the war against the "evil empire" well here and abroad. I don't expect my president to be a religious leader.

These people are starting to sound like anyone who is for Rudy must be sent to a re-education camp and soon. That's eerily reminiscent of another kind of person than a conservative, if you know what I mean.

Now it is a sin to vote for Rudy? This place never ceases to amaze me any more!
Evangelicals I know here are supporting Rudy as well and several of the churches are considering going non-demoninational because of the national leadership that they are saying is out of touch.

So it is your unwavering opinion that Rudy is our one and only chance to defeat the Islamic terrorists? Or are you saying that Rudy is our one and only chance to defeat Hillary? Or is it both? Please clarify so that I'll know what Rudy is saving me from.

A pack of hissy fitters on FR means completely nothing
Are you talking about Jim Robinson, me or who on FR?
Why don't you start your own moderate forum if you think conservatives on a conservative site are hissy fitters. See how much excitement you can muster on your own? Don't answer, I already know, your here because you want to push this liberal crap down are throats.

quote from Jim Robinson:
As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty.
Do you honestly believe that people who believe it is wrong to kill babies can justify voting for Rudy?
Do you believe people who think the 2nd amendment is very important for our country to remain free can justify voting for Rudy?

My "unwavering opinion" .. where on earth did you get that from what I said ..??
I'm not supporting Rudy !!!! HELLO!!! ANYBODY WHO CAN READ ENGLISH.
I'm just saying .. it's way too early to be making that kind of judgment about a person. I do like Rudy's determined mindset about the WOT .. but .. will I vote for him .. I DON'T KNOW YET!!
But .. even as an Evangelical .. I WANT WHAT'S BEST FOR AMERICA RIGHT NOW BECAUSE OUR VERY SURVIVAL IS AT STAKE AND IF WE DON'T WIN THIS WAR .. WILL ANYTHING ELSE REALLY BE THAT IMPORTANT ..?? I MEAN RIGHT NOW .. and that has to mean that electing somebody stronger than Hillary on the WOT. And .. if having Rudy is so bad .. HILLARY WOULDN'T BE WORSE ..?? I just don't get the logic that not voting (and getting Hillary by default) would be better than having somebody who doesn't totally agree with my beliefs.
The "I refuse to support these people" non-voters have already gotten us into a mell of a hess, and I sure hope it's only going to last 2 years because even that will be difficult enough to recover from.

Yeah many want abortion, homosexaulity, adultry, accepted in their churches.

I never said I'm not voting. I just said I'm not voting for Rudy.
I like Rudy's views on the WOT too, but he's not the only one that has them. I just refuse to believe that we have to settle for the likes of Rudy in order to win the WOT. I don't believe that he is our only hope, or that he is even an option for that matter.
