Can you believe the audacity of him looking for constitutional authority?

Not a popular view anymore it seems, but it is the correct one.

"Even Michelle Malkin was starting to feel down about our progress because of the intense barrage of bad news hit pieces. She got to go to Iraq, and check it out herself. She came back feeling better."

Still..was she convinced? NO. The jokers in the MSM need to go back to school and take mind control classes over again. They flunked this one.

I can understand the dims voting for this. If we cut and run from Iraq, their side can concentrate all their efforts on killing our forces in Afghanistan. For the life of me I can't understand these pubs though

I have been a member in good standing of FR since 1999. I am not a plant. And I am not a Bush basher (I voted for him twice).

If you have any proof, please provide it. Otherwise, do what a grown up would do and apologize.

>> Et tu, Kirk? Hard to believe that Kirk (Flatlander) and Petri (Cheesehead) are on this list. If I remember correctly, Kirk is in the Naval reserve. <<

You guys are shocked Mark "Planned Parenthood endorsed ME over my Dem opponent...tee tee... I'm soooo progressive and thoughtful" Kirk voted in favor of this?

It comes as no surprise to those of us who live in Illinois. Mark Kirk is a media whore and votes whatever way will get the nicest praise from the papers. He claims he has to be "thoughtful and moderate" to win his "swing" district, but last year, this clymer's "conservative" rating was so bad he voted to the LEFT of one of our DemocRAT Congresscritters (Jerry Costello) in a "safe" RAT district.

Mark Kirk is not moderate, he's liberal. Despite his Kerry-like delusions of military grandeur, he's not "electable" because of his "record", but because he was the chief of staff of the previous Congressman and won on THAT guy's coattails. If Kirk had been an unknown, the little RINO backstabber would have never made it past the primary.

Kirk's vote a suprise? Please. Check every rating system from ACU to the National Journey. He is consistently ranked as one of the biggest RINOs in the House. With Jim Kolbe, Jim Leach, Connie Morella, and Amo Houghton gone, he might make #1 this year.

He's probably be quiet pleased if he did. There's nothing on his website mentioning "Republican", just his "thoughtful, independent leadership". If he loves being "independent" so much, maybe he should have the balls to run as one and stop taking GOP money.

CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

Disapproving of the decision of the president announced on 10 January 2007, to deploy more than 20,000 additional United States combat troops to Iraq because we represent Al-Quida and the Taliban - THEY ARE OUR REAL SUPPORTERS!

Resolved by the House of Representatives (the Senate concurring), that:

1. Congress and the American people will NOT continue to support and protect the members of the United States Armed Forces who are serving or who have served cowardly and dishonorably in Iraq; and

2. Congress disapproves of the decision of President George W Bush announced on 10 January 10 2007, to deploy more than 20,000 additional United States combat troops to Iraq because us cowardly traitorous arm chair military experts do not care about the United States!

RIP USA!

Short timer English, if anyone wanted to give the U.S. House of Traitors an ENEMA, I would nominate you to be the recipient of the probe!

I lived in Chicago for 20 years before I moved north two years ago. I remember Kirk from his conversations with Don Wade on WLS. Don was always a big conservative so I assumed Kirk was similar.

I'll defer to your analysis--(girls hi-pitched voice) I just feel so violated!

uh, by the vote not you, sir.

>> I cannot believe Mark Kirk (IL) is on this list. He is my congressman and has been a solid military supporter, and BUsh/GOPer for years. I left his office a VM asking for his explanation. I am outraged that he used my vote for him in this manner <<

You're also "shocked" at Kirk's vote? Haven't you looked at this guy's voting record before? He's so liberal he had a LOWER American Conservative Union rating last year than DEMOCRAT Jerry Costello in the safely liberal 12th District of Illinois. Phil is in Kirk's district as well and he could not locate a single issue where Kirk was more conservative than his RAT opponent Dan Seals.

Kirk voted liberal more than 60% of the time last year and will probably vote even more liberal this year. You're getting exactly what you voted for, a liberal.

I remember the 2000 election when Mark Kirk first ran for Congress. His opponent was Lauren Beth Gash. During the "debate", Kirk and Gash could not think of a single major issue where they disagreed (both were 100% pro-abortion, for "reasonable" gun control, supportive of "gay rights", etc., etc.), so they spent the rest of the "debate" arguing over who lived in the district longer.

I can't believe so many people on this forum were unaware Kirk was a liberal until this vote. Look at his record for the last six years! He's a Linc Chafee Republican!

The 17 affirmative votes were less than half that expected.

Have faith, good people. The President has never lost that faith.

Instead of despair, trust in the Lord.

I hate it that the dems have no clue on much of anything, but do have the sense to know that they really screwed up during the vietnam protests by spitting on the troops. There are people who are blind enough to think this charade is real. They care little for anyone but themselves, and would throw our heroes under the bus if it was politically expediant.

Again? What are they going to do? Keep voting until they get it?
