Poll Shows Leftist Liberal Republican Nominee Likely to Split GOP

We had a popular Conservative as POTUSA.
Next was a one term moderate.
Next was a two term traitor, who some people think was conservative.
Next was a two term moderate that squeaked by because the democrats nominees were very bad.
Now some people want a far left winger as the Republican nominee that most real democrats can beat because they can run to the right of any of them.

The democrats are licking their jowls over the hope that Rudy, Romney or McCain will be the MSM and RNC choice for the republican nominee.

The NY MSM are having a field day pimping for these two left wingers, Hillary and Rudy.
Their greatest hope is that their favorite male? and female? are the only choice for POTUS.

I can only speak from the area and political climate where I live. Here, it will take passion to get voters to the polls in the first place. Can't vote, if they don't go. The only way to inspire that passion in them is to get a candidate that they can feel passionate about. Everywhere I go I hear disgust with both parties, and the "it doesn't matter, they are both the same" speech.

This also holds true from the area of the south where I have family and friends.

Many of us are NOT willing to gamble on getting folks to the polls when they have a choice of Dem or Dem lite. Personal stuff aside, as I would vote anyway, I can't blame them.

Bull. People talk a good game, but staring down the barrel of four years of a Hillary presidency I'm sure that most conservatives will discover a newfound love and respect for Giuliani/McCain.

Given a Hillary presidency, it's probably going to be the hold your nose vote, and hope that we can turn Congress conservative.

Threw Yassir Arafat out of the ball, Stared down the race hucksters, threw people off welfare,Even in the 90's he said we needed better border security. He shutdown blasphemous "art" displays. Threw porno out of times Square. Supports the fight in Iraq and opposed gay marriage. why because he says he is for abortion. Even Barry Goldwater when he left the Senate fessed up he was for it. A recent USA TODAY/Gallup poll indicates only 20% of Republicans are even aware of Giuliani's positions on social issues. Perhaps 80% of Republicans know Rudy only by his 9/11 reputation. If accurate, it certainly casts doubt that support for Rudy among Republican primary voters can hold at current levels as the primary approaches and advertising by opponents is aired.

Some excerpts from an article at USA TODAY, titled "Giuliani: Can hero of 9/11 win over his own party?", are reprinted below:

As fondly remembered as Giuliani is for responding to Sept. 11, however, most Americans don't know much else about him. Barely one in five Republicans knew that he supports abortion rights and civil unions for same-sex couples, the USA TODAY poll found. Nearly as many thought he was "pro-life" as said he was "pro-choice."

When they were told about his stance on those issues, his star dimmed. One in five Republicans said his views would "rule him out as a candidate" they could support. That included one-third of those who attend church every week, an important base of the GOP that makes up a third of party loyalists.

Another 25% of Republicans said his views made them less likely to support him, nearly double the proportion who said they made them more likely to support him.
