Wow. It certainly has already split Free Republic--and this poll is proof positive of that if nothing else.
One can only imagine what numbers like that, if extrapolated to the conservative base at large, would mean. It's the kind of dynamic that practically cries out for a 3rd party contender to rise up. Pray that we NEVER get to that point!

Dig up this poll when Rudy is President.
Fraudiani will never be president.

It's not like the Conservatives haven't warned them. If the Conservatives have to choose between and liberal or a liberal, they won't vote at all. The Conservatives didn't leave the Republican party. The Republican part left them.
I pray that the politics-over-principles crowd learn this lesson now right now before they do untold harm to this country.
As for the Rudy-Bot Pseudocons, there may be no hope for them...

We've been saying this all along. True Conservatives will DIE over principle. It's who and what we are. Lefty Liberals shift with the tide, change with the moon phase and are hard to pinpoint.
Who will give in?
It won't be the ones with heart-set convictions, I guarantee.

The smartest post I have read in a long time!!!!! More should read and heed.

IMHO, this shows that if Rudy gets the R ticket, Hillary gets the White House.

Well said. However, the "scared of Hillary, shaking in my flip-flops" will never get it no matter how hard you try.

If the choice was Hillary (L), Rudy (L), or a third party candidate (C), I'd vote (C) and pray for the best. What other choice is there?

I'm not debating the poll, I just want all of you aware of what's happening. Much appreciated. I mean like, since well, we couldn't like read the front page or anything...

If the libertarians and moderates choose Rudy, it's their fault if Hillary wins.I'm with Rudy because Rudy can win. We're in the middle of a war, and this is not the time for us to engage in a purge of an ideologically impure. If the base freaks out, splits the ticket, and elects Hillary with the Dems in control of Congress, what happens then is on their head, not mine.

Ask me next year. I'll just stay on the sidelines keeping an eye on the "others" who don't gauge every last word and deed as a candidate for POTUS.
Rep. Hunter gets a pass on this because he is the only one without the name recognition and the MSM star power. Otherwise, today's main business is the WAR and the WAR and the WAR 2007.

My philosophy, vote for the candidate that continues forward progression for Conservative values, even if it is only 10% momentum it is better than putting the car in reverse.
The problem is that anyone under 50% is advancing liberalism even more resulting in a net loss.

President Hillary thanks you.
(I agree with you somewhat...but it's a frustrating position to be in.)

I know a lot of conservatives who were pretty set against George W. Bush getting the nomination but eventually came around to appreciate the job he did as President. I have know doubt the same thing will happen with Rudy.
