Just as the title says.
So are you supporting Hillary?
I noticed in your postings that you consider Clinton to have been more conservative than Bush.
Duncan Hunter, Patriot with the big 'R' would win. He wouldn't split the base.
Yes, rudy is that bad. And why would middle america vote for him over Hillary? The MSM would tilt the balance of debate leftward to the democrats.
Tried three times to submit a "Yes Duncan Hunter can count on my vote" message; all three failed authentication. If this is an improvement over the previous site, he's doomed.
A Trojan Horse...
The only way the Left can win is to destroy the Republican Party from within.
They have lost the public argument and cannot win on the issues, they have to have despotic judges do it for them and they have to undermine conservatives in the Republican primary.
(This is the entire reason they have state drives for open primaries, non-partisan legislatures, messing with the electoral college and other electoral scams.)
As I was reading your post, I had the following thoughts:
1. One of the selling points of the Republican Party to some of the typical Democratic Party groups (Hispanics, Blacks) has been "Take another look at us, you have more in common with our conservative values than you do with democrats and their leftist values!"
If the Republicans select a Democratic-Lite candidate as their party's standard bearer, that very useful argument evaporates immediately.
2. Another argument the Republicans use when wooing black citizens is "Get off the plantation, the Democrats are just going to continue to promise that they care about your issues until they get your vote, then they are going to forget about you completely, until the next election, when they will repeat the process all over again."
If the Republican Party is going to move left, and to continue treating Social Conservatives and Pro-2nd Amendment Conservatives like the Democrats do their Black Voters, these Conservatives will likely "leave the plantation" as well.
If not this election, surely at some point in the near future.
3. A "My way or the Highway" approach by those who have convinced themselves that Rudy is the "only" Republican who can win in '08 is, IMHO, a bad decision on their part. Such an approach usually results in a stream of taillights fading into the distance.
Just some thoughts during this trying time for Conservatives.
My goal is to get a Republican in office who matches my point of view on what I consider to be the main issues. Number one for me is fighting the war on radical Islam. As far as I can see, all the current GOP candidates will do a good job of that. I also know that virtually any Democrat who runs is likely to surrender.
That means that I will support ANY Republican candidate who runs, whether it be Mitt, McCain, Rudy, whomever. And I don't fear a lick about "conservatives" staying home. Their number will be far outweighed by the number of middle-roaders who vote for the GOP candidate.
I voted to stay home. The outcome of a Rudy Hilary decision is exactly the same.
What national poll are you talking about? This is the most recent from Fox. It shows Rudy doing well with both the general public and the GOP.

Exactly the same? Yeah, right. Except for one surrenders to Islamic extremists and the other tries to kill them.
And Rudy's legs look better in a dress! :-)
All of them! Fox is just one poll. Real Clear Politics composite has Giuliani on top with 33%.
OH --OK -- you're talking about polls just for the primary. They all show him substantially leading, though. Who do you think could win the primary and the general? Personally, I'd like to see someone else step in, because none in the field look all that impressive.
He's even going to invite the one's that have illegally entered our country to stay as citizens of the US. People seem to think the amnesty issue is only about Mexicans. There are many people from Middle East countries who have slipped in or come in on student visas and stayed illegally who will benefit from his open immigration views. How can anyone say Guiliani is going to be tough on defence when he doesn't even want to defend our borders?
