True, if we can get a good conservative out of the primary, it will be a pleasure to vote for him.
In the 2000 general election there was not only a Third Party, but about eight parties. When Duncan Hunter splits off, and Nader runs again, that would be four, so which is the Third Party?
The voting public came out in record numbers last time to vote for one of two candidates, both of who are perceived as extremists.
Were the current poll a prediction I would be inclined to agree. However it's asking people what they will do, not what they think might happen.And since most of us here know, at least the member poll, is a pretty good cross section of conservatives, you might not be able to take it to the bank but I bet it's pretty darn close.
Unlike the so called random polls out there that depend on who answers the phone. Which is why they have zero credibility with me,(unless 300 million Americans answer the poll).
Not sure about anyone else but I have caller ID, and unless I recognise the number, the phone does not get answered, instead it gets sent to the answering machine.

Hunter's not going to split off.
Your statement would more closely mirror reality if you said vote for the candidate that provides only 80% momentum toward liberalism instead of 100%. This nation is moving in the wrong direction, and with a few notable exceptions the GOP is fully on board.
And they DO blame themselves ~ I know too many sorry Perot voters.
I strongly support Duncan Hunter, but the third party advocates shivver me timbers.

Making excuses 22 months ahead of time? I read a post this morning saying the Rudyites were an insecure group. I'll have to agree.
As near as I can tell, if Rudy's the nominee the strategy is to make up conservative votes that are lost by energizing moderates. Given that, it's safe to say that Rudy's coattails will be nonexistent if not counterproductive to the GOP. If he's the nominee what was a longshot (retaking the House) will become an impossibility. So you can forget about a "strong Congress".
It shows a split in the Republican base. For every voter here, there's at least 5,000 other people who think just like him/her.
It means we need another front runner who can seal up the Republican vote.

I am going to vote for the best candidate in the primaries and then again in the national election. If my guy doesn't advance to the finals then I will move past it and look to see what is in the best interests of the country. I cannot justify seeing the Clintons back in the WH so short of the Republicans putting up someone worse then the Republicans will have my vote.
The Clinton legacy is one that we are still paying for and will likely do for decades to come. Just like Jimmy Carter.

I was responding to the "strong Congress" statement. If the GOP plays it's cards well they may be able to make small gains off of Dem excesses. I'm not holding my breath.
Rudy is a liberal, and therefore too divisive for the Republican party. You either support liberalism or you don't. Social Conservatives don't. That leaves Hillary in charge.
Support Rudy - get Hillary.

To be honest, he gives me the creeps. Almost Hillarylike.
I intend to vote strictly on principle, and my principle is singular and paramount. My principle is 100% pure and very easy to follow:
HILLARY MUST NOT BE PRESIDENT.
I don't care who runs against her. I don't care if he's gay. I don't care if he's pro choice. I don't care if he's anti gun.
Whichever of those labels you want to put on him, he will be more American than she is and that's all I'll need to know.
Period and full stop.
