The Pennsylvania house just went to the Democrat side of the aisle because of several leftist Republican committee people. They worked with the Democrat candidate behind the scenes while attending GOP meetings and passing information on to the Democrats. They boldly stood up and took credit for the defeat of the GOP candidate at a recent committee meeting. They put old wounds and elections before the party.
They have done it before and I expect they will do it in 2008. The Pa house went to the RATS on 28 votes. Now we will have the Rendell sales tax hike to 7% and other penalizing taxes because of it. What can you do with GOP committee leftists? Nothing.

He is a left wing ultra liberal on social issues: Abortion, Partial Birth Abortion, Gun Control, Homosexual Rights/marriage/civil unions, amnesty for illegal border invaders, global warming, stem cell research, etc. etc. etc.

I don't think you can predict things too correctly with a FR Poll.

That is what I said. I will vote for a conservative in the primary, Duncan Hunter, Newt, Huckabee. I don't know yet. I will NOT vote for Rudy, McCain, Romney, or any other liberal in the primary. But once the primary ends, it becomes the lesser of the evils, unfortunately.

Proclaim your unwavering conservative princliples all you want, but reality is that no third party candidate can win, so despite them being on the ballot, either the R or the D on the ballot will be the next President.

Yep. Let's hope that (R) is a Conservative. If it's Rudy, Hillary takes the throne.

"Rudy would be the lesser of two evils when compared to Hillary. "

EXACTLY what we DON'T want. Why should we settle for the lesser of two evils? Why accept evil at all?

No, what I don't like is the fact that some are saying that after 12 years of electoral victory, we need to go back to the game plan that led to 40 years of electoral defeat.

The political climate has changed quite a bit in the last three years. Iraq is hanging off of us like an albatross, and unless things get better over there and we're able to start bringing our boys home, they're likely to get worse. The public is tired of partisanship and they're going to vote for a candidate who is precieved as a moderate. Under those conditions, Duncan Hunter is not going to be electable.

There is no reason for a conservative to lower his standards nearly a year before the primaries start.

Hear, hear! That's why I'm voting for Hunter in the primaries.

Of course, the poll is self-selecting and in no way random, so one must not read too much into the results.

Precisely.

But if you think the poll is useful, then go right ahead with your bad self!

This is why the GOP must not nominate a liberal.

Fiscal Conservatism is great, but without the Social Conservatives, Republicans don't stand a chance.

Don't vote for a letter of the alphabet. Vote for a philosophy. Vote for a Conservative.

The title is believable. Rudy is worst possible candidate the GOP could put up. If he gets the nomination then its a sure bet there will be a third party candidate who will splits the GOP vote. It will 1992 all over again. This is what the Dems want and they will push for Rudy.

Good point. Hitler was a fiscal conservative as well as a charismatic and effective leader. He was also a big law ond order guy.

Well, if the conservatives come out and vote for congressional and senate candidates then you have some strength there. If Rudy (note the word if) is the guy in the WH then he would have to hear it from legislators when he goes too far left. If people stay home and don't vote at all then there is no chance of anything happening.
