Anyone going to watch this?
I don't think this is true any more. I think there are as many people who would love to see a minority or woman president as there may be some old-timers who shudder. Pop culture worships the minority of all kinds these days. Why else would "Will and Grace" have been so popular?
It really was. He's really going to disappoint the people that thought he was going to have some kind of fresh approach.
I watched part of it - the sound was low, so I didn't catch a lot of the words, but he sure seemed like an angry black man to me - no smiling during the speech, it was like a speech from the late 50's, early 60's in the south.
Umm, if you read my about page, I'm also in California....
Nice Middle Class Temecula to be exact.
And this statement:
We avoid emergency health care to the point where it's detrimental to our health
Come on now, you avaoid emergency health care, yeah right, I'm buying that
Agree .. but also look at much of the middle class (especially in the NE) .. they basicially have no savings because they spend so much time trying to keep up with the jone's
So they will eat up all the free stuff the dems are promising
Black population is only 12.8% (I actually had to look this up last night for a class I'm teaching). This is everyone, not just voters, so there is not a critcal mass of black voters to turn the tide. This is one reason Dims have ignored blacks in recent elections. They don't need them.
Although the black votes mostly go to Dims, trust me when I say this, many blacks, including many Dim blacks, do not believe this guy is one of them. He is a true African American and has not shared the black American experience. Skin color does not get him a pass. Yes, some blacks who will vote for him just because he's black, but many others see him for the media creation that he is and won't go for it, even if he's on the ticket with Hillary.
It is amazing....
Calls coming in FOR Obama on all CSPAN lines.
Even the Pubbie line....
[yeh, right]
I disagree. See my previous post -- I think a lot of the country is CLAMORING for a minority of some kind to be president. Me, I want a colorblind society, and what we need is the best person for the job regardless of race, but I think there are a LOT of people who would rather see a less-qualified minority/woman THAN a better-qualified white male. I KNOW that is how the MSM feels.
If it wasn't for Perot...we would have never had a Clinton in the WH....
Thats because I bet the majority repubs are spending time with their families on Saturday's, not watching Barack HUSSEIN Obama reaching for straws
Richardson is a smooth talker also .. but him getting any backing depends alot on if Hellary starts to tank
He will mention his Christianity at EVERY opportunity.
"Ma'am, as a Christian man, I can honestly say that your draperies store is the best I've ever seen." etc
Watch out - CNN is on the verge of an Obamagasm!
I think you're right about that. With the right candidate I honestly don't think that blackness or femaleness is the automatic hindrance it once was. Sure there are a few for whom it will matter, but few enough I think that they'll be cancelled out by the few that vote *because* of that trait.
In Obama's case, it's not the blackness of his skin that will be the problem, it would be the blackness of his talking points. The same tired old class envy victimology just doesn't get the mileage it used to. Thank God for that.
Yeah, but did they wash their hands before?
Seriously -- all but intense bleeding or a heart attack will wait until Monday morning when we can access our doctors. Have you SEEN city ER waiting rooms?
I am GLAD you guys in Temecula have saved the middle class. I hope you can keep it. Here in the cities it's getting tougher. But Schwartzi is your gevernor too; he wants to raise your taxes for the illegals as well. Hang on tight.
