ARTICLE SNIPPET:
"To the surprise of the Bush administration, the House Intelligence Committee voted unanimously Wednesday night to allow all 435 House members to see the classified version of the National Intelligence Estimate on Iraq sent to the White House last week. The report is classified in part because it contains information about sources and methods used in intelligence-gathering."

Great idea.
No more of this "we were lied to" crap. You see it ALL, and if you LIE about what you see, Republican House members will call you on it.

What a great idea. Now, when the document is leaked, you're looking at 435 perps instead of a handful. That's assuming, of course, that you even care.

This oughta be a wakeup call for voters in 2008, eh, a "lesson"?
This also can be the end of NIE, not that it was that useful recently, it's been selectively leaked to NYT and other papers for political football... so might as well show it to everybody one last time, and then kill it.

What a stupid decision.
Get ready for lots of secrets about our covert activities to get leaked.
I expected more out of the Republicans on that committee.

Does anybody remember that on/about 9/12/2001, President Bush announced that Congress would no longer be given access to classified Intelligence?
Caused a major flap at the time, and he had to back away from it, of course -- sadly...
We've come a long way, baby....

First, all members of Congress should be given reports gathered by the Clinton Administration. They were the ones who first claimed they had evidence to justify invading Iraq and topple Saddam. The evidence was to profound that all the senior Democrat leaders who viewed the reports(Schumer, Kennedy, Biden, Reid, Boxer, Daschel, Kerry, Pelosi, etc.) are on record in supporting an invasion, if Clinton was inclined to do so.

[the report] was approved Jan. 29 by the heads of the government's 16 intelligence agencies That doesn't sound very useful. Reminds me of the secret negotiations over what "science" to put in the latest global warming report.

what do you expect from the libs? if you could aid and abet your ally (osama) in time of war, it is your duty and allegiance to do so.
