I think they've given her at least a guaranteed year to bring the ratings up.

I've watched her several times. We watched CBS evening news a lot when I was a kid in the early 80s, so I guess I just have a natural tendency to turn it to that station. Honestly, I don't think she's that bad. The times I've watched, she's serious and not being all goofy like her morning show. Still doesn't seem completely comfortable, but she made the transition ok, I think.

Anyway, flame the heck out of me, I guess. lol

Carol doesn't need a bodyguard. She could just KO Katie with the curtain rod sticking our of her shoulderpads. ;-)

One of the funniest skits ever by Burnett.

"I saw it in the window and just couldn't resist it". LOL.

For hard-core fans of Gone With The Wind (I am one), it is the funniest thing ever committed to videotape. Can't remember where I heard it, think it was voiceover narrative on a "Best of" DVD of the show, but the bit was actually conceived not by the writers or cast, but by the show's costume designer!(Nolan Miller or Bob Mackie, can't remember which)

Maybe if she got a colonoscopy live on air again?

She seems to be enjoying that a bit too much.

I love Mama's Family. (plug for the ION network LOL) The talent there was great. Even Betty White and Carol Burnett stopped in from time to time. Carol Lawrence was a hoot.

What a biased story.  It totally leaves out that there was a really funny King of Queens on, where Aurthur keeps bugging new neighbor Lou Ferrigno with a script for a movie, and Doug and Carrie are at odds because she regifted a camera to Deacon and Kelly, and Kelly, like totally knows it, OMG LOL!!!

Well, anyways, there's nothing like snuggling up with your honey after a long day and laughing together over Friends, and thinking how much tat really resembles your own life...

Oh, and let's not forget, the rerun of The Andy Griffith show had a really funny episode where Barney Fife looses his gun and Opie finds it and plays William Tell with Goober's nephew, Jud.  Truly hand on chin time, that episode is.

SO, when you take that into account, you can see why people might not be tuning into Katie Couric.  If that "Perfect Storm" weren't happening, she'd surely be number one, just like CBS thought.

If what I just wrote made you sad or angry,
it was probably just a joke.

I didn't enjoy mine (don't ask), but I can say that I was on enough tranquilizers during said ramming-of-six-foot-hose-with-a-camera-on-the-end-up-my-rear that I can't say if I was smiling or not.

However, the dog was really amused (impressed?) with the THREE-MINUTE-LONG FART afterwards. "Just a little puff of air", my keister. Yeah, two THOUSAND little puffs of air--and it all comes out like Hurricane Katrina.
