[history]
Last evening, as I watched the Superbowl with my nine year old son, I became extremely annoyed at the MARS Corporation and their advertisement for Snickers which showed two guys locking lips. I can't even fathom why somebody thought that this would be a good advertisement for that particular product and why they chose to air it during this event, especially when they knew children would be watching. If their aim was to draw controversy in the hopes of increasing sales, then I sincerely hope they missed their mark. I hope that, instead, they lose sales because of their idiocy.
I called in and registered my strong disapproval this morning at 1-908-852-1000. (If you call, when you get the phone tree, just press "0")
Our family will not be buying MARS products ... Products that MARS makes/distributes: M&M'S, SNICKERS, MARS bars, Milky Way, Skittles, and TWIX.

"Neither were the two guys in the commercial"
Who knows or cares? They should just keep it to themselves.

I think you mean Marlee Matlin who was signing the Anthem lyrics for the hearing impaired while Joel was seated at the piano.

I always wonder if Matlin and Billy have had an affair, she always seems to show up where he goes. Remember she was also in the "We Didn't Start the Fire" video.

There is nothing funny, cute or otherwise endearing about two men kissing.
Disproven.

Or that fact that professionals were mocked....

I question the need to continually sign the lyrics. People should already know the words.

I agree, I really enjoyed the halftime show. He was really singing and playing, nice change...it brought me back to 9th grade. The Watchtower sounded great. I will admit to half hoping the dancers would at least slip or something. I don't know how the heck they were running around and "dancing" in those boots and rain!

Interesting tag line you have.
The people who thought up that ad have no idea how most people think. They can't relate to normal America. They are Abby-normal degenerates who think real working men share candy bars and spit under the hoods of their cars and then act psychotic trying to prove their manhood. It is a truly Queer eye-view of the world.
I've got a couple of new ads for the Mars company. Since they seem to want to go in a new direction.
"Real men don't eat SNICKERS" and
"SNICKERS: the Gay Bar!"

It was obviously pushing the homosexual agenda and pushing it during an hour when kids would be watching the game ... to think otherwise is naive. I can certainly object when a group of people are overtly trying to expose my kids to a lifestyle I find aberrant. I can tolerate someone who lives that lifestyle in a private manner. I can't tolerate it when they are sticking it in my kids face. The commercial was two men kissing, and then acting completely disgusted that it happened. If anything it showed that the lifestyle is aberrant. I have a hard time believing your kids are going to end up gay because they saw that commercial.

LOL..You can add...Snickers...The Gay Bar for your Gaydar.
These are just too easy. I would fire whoever approved that stupid ad.
They made themselves a joke and will feel it in sales for years.

Does anyone remember the rental car commercial that came out last year, shortly after the release of "Brokeback Mountain"?
It featured two guys fishing out on the lake in a small boat. One turns to the other and says, "You know, have you ever felt, you know, what a man feels for another man . . . ?"
Then it quickly cuts to the other guy dashing as fast as he can to the rental car office, with the tag line: "Whenever you have to make a really quick exit. . . "
That commercial didn't run very long. I was pretty shocked.

Prince was standing and strutting 90 percent of the time playing an electric guitar. What planet were you on?

I like to hear America's anthem sung in a straigtforward and manly way. Ummm... he was seated before his piano - and he sang it straightforwardly .
Prince was standing and strutting 90 percent of the time playing an electric guitar. What planet were you on?
Billy Joel sang the national anthem - not Prince. It sounds like the other poster was right here on earth, although your location is still to be determined.

A zebra, standing between them, is looking into a replay video machine.
..."thats a Zebra". Agreed, great commercial!

Why not have someone really good like a country music star? Which is it you want? Someone really good, or country music? Country is to music what asphalt is to golfing.
