"Actually, isn't Jon Carey's wife, technically, an African-American?"

She was born in a Portuguese colony governed by a fascist dictator, and educated in South Africa. Does that count?

Hang in there, sooner or later Cleveland's day will come again. Houston and Cleveland must be sister cities when it comes to sports misery (Detroit at least got a Tigers championship, Boston with the Pats, and who cares about the ThugBA!)

I remember rooting for the Browns in all those playoff games against the Broncos, all for naught. Someday. Someday...

As for the ownership, they continue to display a lack of class by not changing the name from Colts to something like Indianapolis Corndogs.

Too late now for that, really. I agree that the name, the uniform, and the records should've stayed with the city... but Irsay Sr was apparently not a very even-handed kinda guy.

However, it's been more than 20 years now... and any name we Hoosiers would come up with would be lame, and the uniforms would be an eye-sore across the face of the NFL, so it's a blessing in disguise.

(example: Before the widespread adoption of "Boilermaker," Purdue was also sometimes referred to as the home of the "haymakers," the "rail-splitters," the "sluggers," or the "cornfield sailors." source: Wikipedia: Purdue)

"Best part of the game was Prince at halftime. Unbelievable show. What a great performer. I am sure he shooting way up on the I-Tunes charts tonight."

Agree completely. Dude is weird but one hell of a talented artist. Great collection of songs and covers. Loved the Dylan/Hendrix tribute and was surprised by the Foo Fighters song. Amazing talent.

"Best part of the game was Prince at halftime."

I didn't see it but I am listening to talk radio this morning and they are saying that when Prince went behind the curtain, they believe he deliberately positioned his guitar to look like a Phallus. Did you catch that part?

Not me. I don't think that(the team has been in the Irsay family SINCE the b-more days, so he moved the team to Indy, much like Modell moved the Browns to B-more). To me it was in both instances a business move and when you're the owner, that is your prerogative, even if it may not be in the best interests of all involved.

I'm happy for them, they deserved it!!!

It was the current owner's dad, a scumbag by any definition, who moved the Colts. Jim Irsay has been a more or less decent owner. Bob Irsay went out of his way to alienate the fans in Baltimore, then moved. Nevertheless, he moved more or less according to the rules at the time, and indeed the rules now.

Modell circumvented the rules at the time (he put the league in a position where if they didn't approve the move they would face a lawsuit). The league has since changed the rules, and IIRC the franchise would be pulled if he tried to do now what he did then.

(By the way, it wasn't a "business decision" per se. The main reason he moved was so his stepson could inherit the team in a city that didn't 100% hate him. While up until the move was announced many people still had a lot of sympathy for Art, pretty much everyone involved, from the co-owners to the players to the staff to the local politicians to the Indians management to the fans in general, absolutely despised david modell.)

FYI on Prince's ability and a review of last night's performance: MINI REVIEW: PRINCE AT SUPERBOWL that contains this nugget: "I once asked Carlos Santana who he thought was the most underestimated guitarist he'd ever played with, and was surprised when he said it was Prince."

There were 24 countries participating. But you know that. You just want to provocate, because deep inside yourself you know that American Football is exclusively American - and nobody outside of the US cares about it. But it shows to a good extent what the state of the American society is. I very well noticed that the Colts prayed shortly after their victory.

I usually enjoy the Peyton commercials. He's a complete dork, but very likeable. He and Dungy, and the rest of the Colts, deserved to experience a championship. The AFC championship game was far better and more emotional, but this is the one that counted.

michael, I do believe that there are 3 German clubs that paly football. It is a sport that is extremely tough. RE: "American society", it is very diverse. We have Atheists, deists, catholics, protetants, hindu, muslims, etc. Apparently you don't know about American society, just because the colts prayed. Try harder next time. People always have to talk in absolutes, never a grey area. All the wrong is always because of the most convenient "ONE REASON".....................

Intentionally? No. He was playing the guitar like everyone else. To intrepret it as something else is just looking too much in order to try and find something negative. Here's the video of that part:

I did not say that I consider praying after a victory negative - not at all - but doing in as a team in public is at least unusual. That it happened shows that religion plays a bigger role in the American society than it did a few years ago. Saying that is not talking in "black/white" shemes.

The three "German" clubs are German in name only. With a few exceptions, the players are sent from the US for a few month (during your season break) to practise in Europe.

michael, who cares? by the way, there are many german players on those teams.
as far as praying goes, I guess you would have to ask the individals who they were praying to?
